Great interview! I learned so much from it! It's true that losing weight is the easy part, but changing one's thinking patterns is much harder. I've hit my target weight, but I've been here many times over the decades. I'm now working on identifying the thoughts and emotions behind my eating patterns that lead me back to weight gains. Also helpful is understanding Food Addiction and how the processed food industry wants us to stay addicted to their foods.

Self-image is so important! Who do I need to BE? What do I need to DO to HAVE the healed, healthy, fit, strong, lean, toned, flexible body. My attitude, actions, behaviors, choices, standards, self-talk need to come from the person who is that, embodies that.

I have learned so much from watching Dennis Pollack's Channel "Beat Diabetes". He is Type II Diabetic, but has done extensive study and interviews with people who have tried his suggestions. My blood sugar went from 7.8 to 6.0 in two months. I lost 25 lbs. He follows low-carb "Keto" and he tests his sugar after every meal until he now knows what every food does to spike or not spike his sugar. Loads of Info!

As far as exercise increasing appetite…( Yes you include a caveat that if the exercise is excess… ) I have found that with my new exercise regimen, which is swim classes six days a week, that my appetite has greatly diminished. I am making smart food choices, don’t feel hungry between meals (although occasionally I do have a mid- afternoon snack ) and have lost 10 lbs in 2/12 months. I have approximately 18 pounds to go. Again, I eat very healthfully, no processed carbs, and the carbs I eat are the low- glycemic vegetables and fruit. Anyway I don’t have $1000 to spend every three weeks, on the PhD program. I wish I did and could have someone plan my meals for me. I’m happy that there’s a program for people who can afford it.

Hi Andrei, I was diagnosed with PRE - type 2 diabetes just a couple of weeks ago. Finding it very hard at the moment with changing my diet and identifying what foods are good for prediabetes. I'm worried about developing some kind of eating disorder. All the very best for reversing the PRE diabetes.

@@andreidobrescu9060 that's about normal isn't it Andrei ? I still need to get a better understanding of it all, my GP surgery say they will be contacting me again anytime soon to discuss things further on the pre - type 2 diabetes diagnosis. I need to up my cardio exercise routines at home and get out walking every day whenever time allows. I have been doing quite a bit of researching here on KZfaq, but there are so many different confusing views. I talk about upping my exercise routines, but only last week I had a new Very Very comfortable recliner armchair delivered 😁 it's lovely. I'm very determined to reverse this condition with lifestyle changes - diet and exercise.
