ARound 22:15 you talk about "Rhabdo" shorthand for Rhabdomyolysis. This is actually muscle damage that leads to high muscle proteins in the blood to the extent that they clog up the little filters in the kidneys called nephrons. Muscle fatigue or other problmes if probably not related to the lactate, but just the acid generated in the muscle. Lactate is recycles, and used in other parts of the body.

Thanks! Great class! I recently was diagnosed at -2.7 with hashimoto's where the number I felt best with my TSH increased my risk and now here I am. :-((. Also my eye doctor said taking extra calcium not recommended as it would increase my getting Macular Degeneration to which both parents have lost their eye sight.

Thank you! The good news is that you can still work on preventing fractures and improving bone strength with exercise! Don't let that get away from you! Hormones are beyond my area of expertese but if you have osteoporosis or low bone density it may or may not be because of your hormones and treatment for Hashimoto's. Hopefully your doctor can help you get your hormones regulated so that you can both feel good and not sacrifice your bones if that is what is happening. Endocrinologists generally have the expertese to work with you on both your thyroid and bone health. Unless you already understand what your eye doctor is saying, you might get some clarification regarding how calcium affects macular degeneration. No one needs "extra" calcium and everyone needs calcium. There are recommended levels and there are individual variations. The eye doctor may be referring to supplemental calcium as opposed to calcium naturally occurring in the diet or may be concerned abou high calcium levels in your blood. The latter could be related to your hormones. Hopefully your doctors can help you figure out how much calcium is best for you. You aren't alone, many of us face multiple challenges. We just have to do our best. Wishing you well!
