Michael Jordan - Clutch Highlights, 1995-2003 Volume II (by drogetti)

Finally got around to making the second compilation - as promised. Like you saw with the first video, MJ in crunchtime was...unearthly. Sure there are a handful of clutch players in history, past and present, but it was Mike who came through time and again on EVERY stage - and was actually efficient doing so.
There is still leftover footage that I may use for a 3rd installment. Enjoy this one though.
Vol 1: • Michael Jordan - Clutc...

while i was a bit sad to see jordan not able to play like the old jordan that i knew, i understand how exceptional he was as a 38-40 years old player. a lot of his 38-40 highlights are still amazing to look at. with his usage at those ages ( I think he was forced to iso a bit more vs his last few years in the bulls simply because of how shitty his wizards were as a team) he was more than incredible. I can't think of anyone at age of 38-40 has the same amount of impact as he did within a game. the only 38-40 year old players that were comparable in terms of stats were malone and jabber. malone had always been healthy with stockton making it a lot easier for him to score. jabber without a doubt got his stats padded by his all star teams that ran like a well oiled machine during the mid 80s. as far as wing/perimeter player goes, grant hill and ginobili are probably the closest in terms of athleticism. of course their numbers were no where near jordan's. nash and the suns' system had helped hill to score easily ( not really trying to take a jab at hill though because he is still one of my favorite players). and ginobili was just so well preserved as an all star bench player that his athleticism was saved not playing heavy minutes. during some instances last season i reckon that manu at age 40 was a tad faster than the 40 yr old mike, but then who could blame an injured jordan at 40 when he was still doing 37 min per game? As for all of us who followed and watched every games of his wizards days know that he was doing 25+ a game shooting over 46% mid season before his injury. if he were able to maintain his health his stats would be even more impressive. the biggest problem of the 38-40 jordan was that he took a long time to warm up after he sat in the bench for too long. i remember many games after he did so well starting off and then could not turn his shooting touch/legs back on after some rest. it really was a shame that the wizards couldn't make it to playoff but because we all knew jordan would turn it up a few notches.

Thanks for watching. I don't get why anyone would view MJ's Wizards stint as a 'negative' - especially w/ the great games he had against the 2000s stars. Mike had Washington in playoff contention before his knee injury (Feb 2002). That is extraordinary for a player of his advanced age.
@sundreamer4457

Thanks for the wizards highlights. Yes, jordan was old, his knee was broken. but what few people do not know: Jordan had no feeling in his right index finger because a year before he had cut through his sinew. no other player would have played this way! with 4 fingers on his shoting hand. he came back for the love the game and had nothing more to prove.
@JCR1992
@JCR1992 5 жыл бұрын
Sun Dreamer was that the injury sustained from the cigar cutter? I never knew he had no feeling! That’s one of the many reasons why I love MJ, he never openly discussed injury unless it was something that everyone saw on the court and even when that happened he always said if he’s out there it’s no excuses.

@@JCR1992 Yes. There are a few things about it on the internet. there is also an interview with Doug Collins where he explains it. I remember the year 1999 when Jordan said he can not come back because of his finger. When Jordan makes a fist, the finger is straight. he holds or throws a ball the finger is always straight. 1.bp.blogspot.com/_Xd7W6OPSCuI/SIS33f4xODI/AAAAAAAAAwg/tSw5kRXUH7E/s1600-h/395141.jpg arc-anglerfish-washpost-prod-washpost.s3.amazonaws.com/public/WJM25WPYD42MDBD7EBMDOJJGJU.jpg i.servimg.com/u/f40/17/20/86/43/h-jord10.jpg

Man at age 40 MJ was still hitting key shots down the stretch in games for the Washington Wizards! Usually guys at that stage are role bench players let alone playing at 40 years old!!! ....0:48......

some said team bulls won't be able to play against great teams these days because of the difference in the range of shots. Old teams lack of 3 points so they don't have the space but these days teams have the space in the court. MJ, the god of middle range jumper, doesn't need the space as he has the ultimate weapon, postup and fadaway. jumper

Jordan was not that good on three points, but if he did shoot three point in the clutch the opponent team always hold their breath..

Pretty impressive when you realize how many games this guy won in the fourth quarter while playing on a championship team. Also, at 812 he missed that freethrow on purpose. He missed the first one and had to miss the second one to tie the game. The game was on Nov 21, 1997
