Here we take a dive into this new stove as we try to determine if this is a wood heater or cookstove.

I just bought a bistro. How often should you clean the top with the brush? It seems unfortunate that you would have to take apart the chimney to clean or am I not understanding correctly? Thank you for sharing. 🌹

The drier the wood the better in this case. There isn't much space there for any sort of buildup.

@@tinmaninc2023 My wood is between 10 and 12 % dry. And as for the cleaning where the stove pipe is connected to the stove how can I tell when it needs cleaning? Do I do this once a year? Your video is very informative.

@@Yasminenature For the first year I would do it twice at least. Once at the beginning and one halfway through. Just to see if there is a need to and adjust your cleanings from there.

Hi there, I'm debating between getting this Bistro or the HT 3000. Bistro offers 75,000 btu and up to 2100sqft heating capabilities. HT 3000 gives off 110,000 btu and up to 2700sqft. Both numbers are stats but not sure how accurate they are in reality as you've rated the Bistro at 60,000 btu and 1500sqft at max. Have you personally tested and tried the Bistro and would you actually recommend it for heating a 2000sqft space or it's really a mediocre heater with a mediocre cookstove? I don't really wanna buy something knowing it's designed to do 2 things but not do either or any well. I already know the HT is an absolute top of the line wood stove but having that advantage or ability to cook/bake something with the Bistro is nice. On that note, I can't find much content or reviews on the cookstove of the Bistro. If anything, it's negative feedback as a few comments mentioned having trouble working the cooking chamber so any feedback or input would be greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I think you are right. We have only sold a few of them and there are complaints. They also are not in their lineup anymore so maybe that speaks volumes. For the record Drolet is not a top of the line brand. Its a cheaper line made for the big box stores. If I were you I would go with your gut which is telling you not to buy the bistro. Hope this helps.

Is there a oven clean out ? So you can clean creosote?

No, we believe that's what the brush is for that came with it.

What's the heating output? Sq ft or but?
@danwalker3373 Жыл бұрын
BTU
@tinmaninc2023 Жыл бұрын
I'd put it at 1500 sq ft of heating and around 60k BTU based on the firebox size.
