After 2 years and 50k miles, I decided to return my Hellcat to stock ride height and I couldn't be happier. In this video I talk about some of the problems with lowering 392 or Hellcat Chargers or Challengers.

I'm primarily talking about lowering 392 or Hellcat Chargers or Challengers in this video. However, I think it's more feasible to lower the 5.7 and V6 Trim levels because they are very high from the factory and have a large wheel gap, which is why I'm keeping my R/T Charger lowered.

Just keep an eye on sway bar bushing‘s sway bar links front lower control arms both of them upper control arm rear tension arms trailing arm the big control arm that holds the spring in the rear I could go on and on the spring company you’re using ware is these bushings out very quick. The drop on your 5.7 charger is lower than my 6.1 charger

@@SrtChargerOldMan if I could do it over again I'd go with the pro-kit on the RT instead of the sportlines.

I'm with you man. So nice having the stock suspension in place. I was getting tired of worrying about terrible road conditions a while back. The Hellcat stock suspension doesnt have much wheel gap anyway.

I rounded up. It's more like 45k, but I definitely drive the car a lot - many times just cruisin the back roads with no particular destination. It's my happy place 😁😁. Thanks JP!

Hmmmm thanks. Those are all of the thing I consider when it comes to lowering the car. That's why I haven't done it. Does look cool butttttt

If I could do it again on the RT, I'd go with the Eibach pro kit instead of the sportlines. Prokit only drops about an inch, which makes the RT wheel gap about the same as stock hellcat. Even with that though, you gotta alter your driving habits. Thanks for watching bro!

I agree with you, another reason to leave a Hellcat at stock ride height is they eat CV joints when they are lowered and run on fast road courses, I've been following a thread on a Hellcat forum and several people have experienced this and corrected it by returning to stock ride height.

Add me to the list. I've blown the left CV boot twice on the road course, the second time (at Pocono) resulted in me having to replace the entire left rear axle. Here I thought I was improving my ability to run road courses, and instead I was just damaging the car. 😖😫

Being lowered on coils in my pursuit definitely had its negatives but I liked the look mostly cuz the stock hight was ugly as fuck. I definitely did like the feel on the roads but after awhile the coils were to much to deal with. I love the Scatpacks stock suspension but I think all love it more if I was lowered. I just don’t like the up high body roll as you stated

Dodge got quite a few things right when they built the HellCat and the ride height is one of those things. Why would you lower this vehicle two or three inches and eventually destroy the underside of the nose. If you install long tube headers on the HellCat after you have lowered it rest assured that the headers are to constantly make contact with the road. But it’s your vehicle do as you please with it.

Yes indeed, long tubes totally change the equation. Depending on the long tube kit, you need to be more careful even at stock ride height.

Those springs lower the car way too much I can get two fingers in my challenger front and back Hotchkis doesn’t drop it that low and they have shorter bump stops just bouncing around would drive me nuts. My chargers only a half inch drop in the front and their SRT‘s I had a feeling you were going to get rid of them
