Story time for anyone who knows about this original video from which this clip was taken: Im 36 now Moroccan Israeli American born and I had this full video cassette when I was a little kid. It includes almost every folk and traditional song of all the different cultures from the birth of Israel as a nation and historical ones too. The main thing that made it special, as you can see here, is that it provided original lyrics in Hebrew, as well as transliteration in English, so that even if you didn't understand or speak the language you could totally "learn the words" and be able to sing along eventually. It was ahead of its time and i believe it may have been specially made for ElAl airline, or was somehow related to it, as a kind of gift and learning tool to travelers visiting Israel. We later moved so many times that the cassette was misplaced or just lost along the way. This song was stuck in my head for years but i was never able to pinpoint and verbalize it to my parents to figure out and get the bug out of my system. When the internet finally caught up and Amazon was flourishing I dug and dug and located a copy somewhere! It was called Songs Of Israel. I tried to order it but the sale never went through, unfortunately. Till today i would love to have a copy of it somehow some way. Long story short - if anyone has any lead or info on how to get a copy i would love to connect and resolve a childhood nostalgic memory. If I had to pick any song from the entire video to have randomly found online it was definitely this one. Thank you!! So much to the poster and I hope to hear of anything, even to share stories w anyone else who remembers what im talking about. Lol ok thanks and love to all who appreciate this clip. I'll never forget the yemenites dancing with each other on the waist and clapping like that. Burned into my mind forever. Besorot tovot le kulam 🖤🙏🏽 - Gal

I remember hearing this song during my childhood and the rest of the songs from that same vhs tape. Scoured the whole internet back in the 90's looking for this particular version of Dror Yikra. Still don't know the name of the singer. :(

Translation: He will proclaim freedom for all His children And will keep you as the apple of His eye. Pleasant is your name and will not be destroyed, Repose and rest on the Shabbat day. Seek my sanctuary and my home, Give me a sign of deliverance. Plant a vine in my vineyard, Look to my people, hear their laments. Tread the wine-press in Botzrah, And in Babylon, that city of might, Crush my enemies in anger and fury. On the day that I cry out, hear my voice. Plant, O God, in the mountain wastes Fir, acacia, myrtle and elm. Give to those who teach and to those who obey Abundant peace, like the flow of a river. Repel my enemies, O zealous God, Fill their hearts with fear and despair. Then we shall open our mouths And fill our tongues with Your praise. Know wisdom that your soul may live, And it shall be a diadem for your brow. Keep the commandment of your Holy One, Observe the Shabbat, Your sacred day. He will proclaim freedom for all His children And will keep you as the apple of His eye. Pleasant is your name and will not be destroyed, Repose and rest on the Shabbat day.

They are Yemenite Jewish aka Yahadut Teman but the song is a poem by Dunash ibn Labrat so the song is applicable to all Sephardi groups which includes the Moroccan Jews. The first letter of each line of the first part of the song spells Dunash- a signature of the poet who lived under the ''Golden Era'' ie. Muslim rule.
