I've heard the EP3 calipers are tricky. You're absolutely not supposed to pull the handbrake lever before bleeding, some calipers even come with a little warning tab for this, but I don't know what effect driving on them without a cable would have. Hope it worked out.

yesterday was my first time servicing drum brakes. wheel cylinder hardware shoes and drum and ss braided line. drums are for the birds. i spent all day doing one side and cleaning my rims. ill finish the other today. i also replaced everything up front: calipers, pads, hardware and stainles steel braided lines. in the end its extremely worth it on these 20-30 year old vehicles that had been driving most of the time. the wheel cylinder basically exploded as soon as i removed the pressure from the shoes. for my 2003 civic ex i spent abiut 500 on all of the brake components i mentioned. do not i repeat do not buy the 30 dollar ss brake line kits off ebay. they will send wrong shit and deny it. but i think autizone had the correct lines for like 60 bucks ...

What did you use for e-brake cable? Did you go for an Integra e-brake cable?

Do you know what dust sheild would fit for the conversion, and also what plate would fit for my 93 civic coupe EX AT. Thank you!

Hey, great video bro. One question, where did you get the brackets for the e brake cable? I've done a disc swap on my EK straight out of a DC2. Everything is in place except the bracket for the e brake cable. Help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

@@Adam_Bap. are those rear calipers from and integra or SI?? What year model?

Did you swap out your proportioning to disk brake version one? Imma do a rear disk on mine eg soon. Some people say u need to change others says it fine to use the drum brake one.
@Adam_Bap.Ай бұрын
It would be an investment to do it! but no, I haven't swapped mine. Haven't had any problems so far

Now that you've had a month or so with these eBay part - how are they working out for you? (Considering this for my '97 Del Sol)

Best purchase I’ve made price wise, nothing has failed or gave me issues. Definitely will consider this route in the future. If anything ever fails I’ll make it known but so I highly recommend

Can I put a dust shield behind the disc in the process ?
@Adam_Bap.Ай бұрын
Yes, it would mount to the adapter. Make sure the dust cover has the 4 bolt mounting points and your are good to go

I wonder why Honda made drums standard and not disc. Could it be because drums are cheaper? They’re def more complex than disc…
@maxinnn19 күн бұрын
its cheaper and the breake power it had was enough
@batman36986 күн бұрын
Depends on the model. My EG came stock with discs. EU market EG5 ESi. Drum brakes actually work better as a parking brake, but they heat up faster if you brake alot, that's why sports cars come with discs, and economy cars with drums.

Nooooo the brake fluid.
@dominicfong6341Ай бұрын
The only thing good about the conversion is in the esthetics department while it contributes to no tangible improvement in performance.
@Adam_Bap.Ай бұрын
Correct, upgrading your brakes defiantly won't increase the braking performance. great tip bro
@dominicfong6341Ай бұрын
@@Adam_Bap. Thank you for the kind reply dear sir. If you haven't done so, I would highly recommend steel brake lines. While it does nothing in the esthetics department, you will reap great rewards in the terms of driving feel.
@moshet842Ай бұрын
It actually does improve braking performance. You should be able to feel a noticeable difference in brake response with disc brakes over drums. Discs have a higher brake torque at the same diameter compared to drums.
