Thank you to our patron Douglas K for this moody and goddamn catchy pick! This is like dark pop. I just want to go to dance in the rain at night wearing a suit for some reason... but I'm weird so don't listen to me. That was great. Even if he just provided his voice, it was more then enough. And all the musicians he collected for this KILLED it. So, so good.

The Aladdin Sane piano solo is a thing of avant-garde beauty and legend . What mainstream artist other than Bowie had the nerve to do a song like this in 1973? A must listen track.

I really enjoyed it too! It was a very deep song. Lots of layers to it. I enjoy the nuance of his work so much. I discover new things with each spin.

Great song crap album, his 1980s output was not very good, although he started 1980 with a cracker in" Scarey Monsters "@L33Reacts

Suggestions for Bowie: early - The Width of a Circle, The Man Who Sold The World, Cygnet Committee. Later - Boys Keep Swinging, It's No Game, Sons of the Silent Age, Always Crashing The Same Car.

“…and your prayers, they break the sky in two!” David Bowie’s impassioned vocal… A new Bowie song for me… I’m glad to discover! Thank you, Lee and Douglas.

I fucking love this song. Great tune (especially the crescendo builds before the chorus) and such a clever and meaningful lyric.

Some people may disagree, but generally the 1980s (post-Scary Monsters) are considered a creative low point for Bowie. I feel he regained his mojo in the early 90s, but even during those wasteland years in the 80s he still released a handful of killer tracks -- head and shoulders above what most people were doing. And this is one of those tracks. No "Best of Bowie" compilation should be without Loving The Alien. A real classic. Nice reaction dude.

His output in the 2000s is, to me, as strong as his 70s work. Incredibly rare to have an artist who came up in the 60s and 70s delivering some of their best work on their final albums.

From the same album BLUE JEAN which was released with a great totally meta narrative video which is 20 minutes long with such a nightlife '80s atmosphere it's contagious. Great reaction. I feel the same as you about this song. Bowie does a live version from I think around 2000 that is sublime with just an acoustic cguitar accompaniment.

I only just got around to this. Not one of the tracks I listen to much. But love this. It’s just more perfection. Bowie had total mastery of so many styles, moods, and sounds. He did this. He did Ziggy. He was Major Tom. He was David Jones. It’s really cool you’re into Bowie, too.

Peter Frampton did a remake of this song and it’s bad ass! David and Peter grew up together and were best friends. Peter’s father was Bowie’s art teacher. Peter did his version (which is an instrumental track) after David’s death 💔💔💔. Take a listen for this 61 year old broad ❤️❤️

Such a shock to wake up in the morning, and find someone has died, when you didn't even know they were sick. Stunned when I heard about David dying. Yesterday, it was Steve Harley.

Maybe you know that Stevie RV played guitar on 'Let's Dance' a big commercial success for Bowie. But I feel Bowie's team kinda ramrodded Stevie, wanted full control. SRV was supporting SRV on the tour but quickly left when Bowie's team did not want him promoting his own new album 'Texas Flood'. To me this made Bowie look bad but I was not there. Oh, and I really enjoy your reactions, I was a young kid in the 60s, from Beatles to Bjork, I love it all. My current fave is Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas. I'm glad I got to experience the Beatles first hand, and now feel the same about Billie. Regards...

I love your reactions, but there are time while a song is playing when you go off on a nonsensical tangent and you talk (at length) and you DO. NOT. LISTEN. TO. THE. SONG. You do that twice during this one, both times when something important is changing. Please stop doing that. It is super annoying. Thanks.

Give a listen too to Iggy's original of 'Tonight'. Cool tune, this one, btw. Religion('Loving the Alien')?! Nuff said. 😢😅 Also, 'What In the World' (with Iggy) from 'Low', Iggy's 'Shades'(with Bowie) and their respective takes on 'China Girl'(Iggy's 'The Idiot' and Bowie's 'Let’s Dance'). Hmmm.🤔 That's probably not all. Iggy and the Stooges 'Raw Power'("that fucking carrot-top sabotaged my album!!"), title song, 'Search and Destroy', 'I Need Somebody', 'Shake Appeal'. 🤷🏽❤
