I’m 67 years young..I was born with a natural rhythm and ability to hear almost any of it and replicate it, not rudimentary perfect but close. My mom and band director insisted I play trumpet.. have to wonder if I’d have been a session player.. I played trumpet till senior high school. Never took the trumpet home. I never could read drum music but your way of communicating is very helpful in understanding that which I knew but couldn’t apply.it’s all in how you present it and YOU are a great teacher. Revel in this ability.. it’s not something most can do

I'm 83 and still drumming and gigging. In my experience there many ways to play in 3/4 time. Modern numbers tend to have the kick and hat together on 1. Old Time ( fiddle lead ) usually feature the 1 on the ride with 2/3 as a double accompanied by a matching snare. Then the Viennese Waltz is played on the snare with kick on 1 and single stroke on 3 on the hat. Then our Jaz group added Paul Desmond's A Taste of Honey. It's done in 3/4 but with both sticks on the hat 1/8 notes with alternating triplets. Now I find out there's 3/4 in Rock.. whoda thought ? I guess one is never too old to learn.😊

not many videos talk about 3/4 enough. to improve future videos, you may consider digging into your module more - tune, individual volume, room ambiance/reverb (i prefer none) and eq make a great difference. thanks for the great suggestions for snare placement and shuffle beat, i will definitely try them out

Pro tip: count the second beat in 6/8 instead of 3/4. Much easier. The snare falls on 4 if you count in 6/8.
