Drumstick Leaves Nutrition Facts leave no surprise that scientists are calling Drumstick Leaves a “Herbal Gold”! It’s almost a “Believe it or not”! For example, do you know that moringa leaves have 25 times more Iron than spinach?
The scientific name of drumstick is Morings oleifera.
Leaves of Moringa tree - more popularly known as drumstick - is called Murungai Keerai in Tamil.
This video focuses on two drumstick leaves recipes (murungai keerai recipe)... and a cool ultra quick method of how to clean moringa leaves - (and of course moringa nutrition)
1. Drumstick Leaves Soup
2. Drumstick Leaf Dosa (called Murungai Elai Adai in Tamil) Recipe
The murungai keerai health benefits are multi fold...
1. It has 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots and 13 times of spinach
25 times more iron than spinach
2. Four times more calcium than milk - which means… 25% more than even Ragi!
3. 36 times more magnesium than eggs
4. 63 times more potassium than milk - which means… 3 times more than even bananas
5. Two times more protein than milk
It almost seems too good to be true. But that is not all...
The benefits of moringa don’t seem to end…
Moringa leaves have anti microbial, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties and can protects the liver from damage due to toxins
Antioxidants in moringa protects the heart from both low and high blood pressure. The antioxidants are also beneficial in case of epilepsy, lowers blood sugar, increases urination and can prevent and reduce kidney stones. They have anti-ulcer and would healing, pain killing properties also.
All said, if you weight the Moringa benefits and side effects, the Drumstick Leaves Nutrition Facts leave little room for doubt about its benefits. Our reading of the research papers did not suggest any side effects.
Moringa leaf powder benefits would probably be similar to Moringa leaf benefits.
Is it a surprise that Moringa is called a “Herbal Gold”?

It’s just mind blowing to see the enormous health benefits of these leaves ! Just last week I was trying to make soup out of these leaves to pump up my Hb levels so thanks for the soup recipe . At home my grand mom used to make Adai with murungai leaves and ragi powder as our evening snacks . And yes we should definitely take more of these leaves and plant more murungai trees. It’s very helpful for those suffering from arthritis or back pain since it has calcium and is anti- inflammatory in nature. Didn’t know it could be used for epilepsy! Loved this video Akka 🙏🏻

Lovely, as always👌. What we're used to make with Moringa, here, is this: saute some onions, mustard, cumin and a few pieces of dry chilli in ghee, sesame oil or even coconut oil. Add the moringa leaves, salt to taste and freshly grated coconut on high flame for just for a minute. Done You'll end up eating more rice than other days...it's such a quick and healthy recipe. Few drops of Lime or lemon is optional after you take it off the stove. We call it Moringa varai. In Sinhala it's called Moringa Mallun.

Thanks Sujatha. We use the morunga powder. We do also have the fresh leaves in Canada. In Sri Lanka we had a tree. Its helps to produce breastmilk too. Today my daughter said that she went to see a specialist regards get more milk. She is a new mother who doesn't listen to her mother. Every information she gets from other professionals not her mother. I am so ashamed. They think they know every thing.

Namaskaram Gracie. You don't have to feel ashamed. Our responsibility is to let children know. It's up to them, whether they want to take it or not. So don't lose your cool over this. I am sure your daughter will realise your worth ! So chill and relax. Regards Sujata from Munch and Mull 😊🙏

Thanks for the video mam. Today I had my first Moringa tea. I boiled ginger for about 7 minutes, I then added Moringa leaves into boiling water for 5 minutes. I strained the tea into a cup and I squized lemon juice and added a spoon of honey for test. Can I reheat the contents as I don't want to just throw it away?
