I have done this many times.The feeling i have is that in one reset the gear box response faster and immidate , and the other is slower if you can say that......

After the re set, it should shift quicker and smoother, up and down. These gearboxes learn how you drive to, so if you suddenly start driving more aggressively, it will be a bit slow till it learns.

Yeah, it won't affect your map. Just re set all the bite points of the solanoids for the clutches

I wonder where this comes from. There are absolutly no information from VW themselves about this, and everyone has different ways of doing it. Some say NOT to turn off the ignotion but rather start the car.. Some say that the key should be removed and re-inserted. Some say a minute while others say 20 seconds. Some claim you have to go though all of the selecters after. This is though the first time someone mentioned locking and unlocking the doors? Not sure what this has to do with the transmission. Plasebo effect?

Iv been working on vw/audis for many years, I was told by an Audi trained mechanic how to do it when I serviced my gearbox on my Q5, and straight away I felt the difference even on the shifter ( felt tighter) but since then iv done it to countless customers and friends cars and all have noticed the difference, the locking and unlocking is meant to register the change in the ECU, hope that helps mate 👍🏻

Aa far as I'm aware it was to lock the new setting into the ecu, all I know is iv had a few DSG cars and you could tell after doing this on each of them, so it deff works, as for other people's ways, I have no idea.

I seem to get a little clunk sound when the car comes to a standstill, when it goes back to D1, I have an Audi 2019 A5, does the sound familiar?

Yes, mate, could just need a re set, or your dual mass flywheel is starting to die, even though its an auto you still have one, try the re set first if it doesn't stop then you know. Any more info feel free to get in touch 👍🏻

Yes and it kind of feels bit better. The audi technician said the clutch had slipped, all being well work will be done tomorrow, I hope warranty covers this, only had the car 3 months…

@ashleymiskin5284 That's a great catch by you then mate well done 👌🏻 iv got a highly tuned Audi SQ5 so when I started getting the same issue as you, I had an uprated clutch pack put in and an uprated dual mass flywheel, the difference is huge now, keep me posted on what happens 👍🏻

Mostly ppl doing wrong manip to reset dsg whitout 90degre or drive10minute then reset it there is a reason mostly ppl has bad dsg because of this sample manipulation...

@@adriansmith8555 before u touch anything just drive 15minute then do reset adapation dsg if u do cold its gonna break something " a bit risky"

First, go for a short drive to get the gearbox oil up to temp, Then, press the throttle down to the floor ( but not the kick down swith right at the bottom of the pedal) turn on the ignition ( wait for 1 minute) then turn off the ignition and release the throttle, lock the car, then unlock, start the car and go for a sensible drive ( no hard accelerating) to let the gearbox re learn it's parameters, job done.
