Detailed description of the auto-waterer from my original Duck Coop video. All supplies were bought at Lowe's except the float valve, which I found on eBay. Let me know if you guys have any questions!

This is the perfect solution my flock! Thanks for the in depth overview of it! I'm planning on using your idea with a longer stretch of 4" PVC connected to a 55 gallon drum so I can use some water heating solutions for the winter months with my quackers.

Thanks. I’m going to put hardware wire below the waterer so all the spilled water drops down to a catch basin. I’ll let you know when I finish!

Was there a reason you chose to reduce from the inside to the outside?

good sam makes Reduce the size of the pipe? Or decrease the number of openings from one inside and one outside to only outside?

good sam makes no worries! Yeah you most definitely can - I’m glad it was helpful. I reduced the size of the pipe in mine only because of the size of the biggest hole saw I had, and the size of the pallet wood I had. The smaller hole kept the wood around the PVC more secure without any extra bracing from the original screws. Honestly it would be easier to clean just running 4” the whole way. I decided to do this addition after I built the coop, but if I had designed it in beforehand I would’ve attempted only 4” and only having the water available outside of the main house to keep the bedding from getting water-logged.
