A look at the new ducks just arrived from the post office, the first batch of chicks hatched out in our new incubator, and a look at the incubator itself.
We first ordered Indian Runner ducks from Hoover Hatchery. The first order arrived without any survivors. The replacement order arrived with 3 survivors and a dozen that didn't make the trip. Seems to be an issue with the post office since the orders were shipped priority mail but it took 4 and 5 days for each order to arrive. Way too long for ducklings. Sexed runner ducks became available at Murray McMurray hatchery so I ordered a dozen females from them. They arrived in 2 days healthy and well.
Shout out to @Thepioneerfarmhouse Patricia is coming by Saturday to pick out 6 of the newly hatched chicks for her farm.
