Those delivery drivers might be able to turn you on to some other Aldi locations with excellent dumpsters. Possibly even stores other than Aldi's where the picking is good.

OKRA, SOUTHERNERS EAT IT CORNMEALED OR BATTERED AND FRIED, usually in a cast iron skillet.. You can roast it on a cookie sheet, boil small pods till tender, and salt it, or the Cajun cuisine puts it in jambalaya or gumbo dishes. Good stuff, but like you said, you want to pick it before it gets too big because it will be unable to eat. Nancy from Arkansas

I steam mine till it’s super soft, it’s like eating a bowl of snot with little peas in it. Definitely an acquired taste! I also love it pickled, fried, in gumbo, canned, in soup, and the small fresh pods are delicious fresh off the plant.

No messing about on this dive, like a thief in the night, in and out Frugal Daddy with his spoils. And what good spoils they were, another thumbs up from me Frugal Daddy and particularly those Strawberries looked really yummy.. Oh and those pans you got, another great find, but I've never seen one with one of those heavy lid's before?..Then right at the end Daddy enjoying the fruits of his labour, what an ending.... Okra on the best vegetables in the world. This was a good haul. Love that crate Suzette pan. You can take the hamburger patty, poke holes in it, when you put them together the cheese will run down in between the the burger and down into the other Burger. Yummy

Boiled okra is gross. I don't eat slimy okra. You gotta cut it up into little wheels, put it in a bowl of cornmeal and gently toss until well coated and then fry it up until crispy. Its so good. Fried green tomatoes are excellent too. You have got me craving a southern summer supper. Thanks lol. ❤

I’ve got 4 varieties growing and hopefully they’ll all be producers! Can’t wait to get some fresh small ones to eat. I need to check my farmers market, because my planting was a little late this year, they might have some ready already. Thanks for reminding me!

Wow,those skillets are great! We had the 3rd hottest place on the planet in our county in Nova Scotia. We're used to cold. I don't even own an air conditioner. It was brutal.

It was brutal here in Niagara Region, as well. This week has been around 40-45 Celsius,or 100-110 Fahrenheit every day with humidity.

My childhood Dad made lunches was fried bacon , baloney, and mozzarella cheese on dill rye bread with a kosher dill pickle. Just heavenly!! Great free cookware score.

What a beautiful haul. The pans were a great find too. That thin pan is a crepe pan and the square one is to cook meat like steak or lamb chops. The lid is for weighing down the meat to get that crust . Your special item of the smash burgers would be great for that pan . Make sure it's good and hot before you add the meat.

The big flat pan is a crap pan spray whip egg have a berry mix made turn egg all over pan once done place berry mix and fold sides and powder sugar and sweet cream drizzle back and fourt light and serve .
