Hey y’all and welcome back to our dumpster diving channel! We thought our local college might have the big haul away dumpsters out, but not yet! We still found a LOT of great kitchen items, Christmas decor, art supplies, and more at apartments near campus. It’s obvious that the students are beginning to move out and it’s only a matter of time until we get to officially dive College Move Out! Wooo!

I am just amazed by the quantity of cardboard and plastic bottes that are thrown away and could be recycled !

We always are too.. it's so disappointing! Especially because there is typically a recycling bin RIGHT next to the dumpster!

I did blue and silver balls and snowflakes for like 10 years. I finally switched to Grinch theme since Im not very christmasy anymore lol i wouldve loved those ornaments back in the day.

The puppet theater was funny to me, since I just bought a pattern online to make vintage type puppets that would go with that! I found some spray rug cleaner at a dollar store that would work on that footstool.

Those "placemats" are basically what they are, my grandmother put them on her end tables for decorations and protection.

Awesome finds…those blue ornaments are so great mixed in with patriotic decorations as well as Christmas. Also, a little advice is not to use fabric softener when washing fleece or furry blankets or pet beds or they actually will get scratchy and stiff.

There is a insta-stain remover I buy at Dollar general that works very well for removing stains,"Woolite Insta clean with oxy"runs around $5. for 22 oz.

Spray stained fabrics with hydrogen peroxide. You would be surprised at how well fabric is restored. I keep a spray bottle full and handy in the laundry room :)

Pretty sure that it can alter colors so use with caution. Test a little patch.

I've used peroxide on clothes for years and never had a problem. It is the best stain remover I have ever used.

@@datagrl Always a good idea :) but I have never had an issues with peroxide altering colour. It has been a life saver at times :) Have a lovely day :)

I think that those are placemats, however you can use them for mixed media art. Spray paint or texture. Use as a stencil

suggestion kids. I flip the cardboard cat thing lol. and I found one myself and I bleached it and used laundry soap. then I rinse it with vinegar. great Xmas decorations. Xmas tree can be donated to nursing homes or animal shelters. I have the same Xmas tree. those placemats were from Macys dept store 8 yrs ago.

Remember me telling you a lot of folks use those trees like that for making decor for wreaths, mantles, on their stairs... but if they take up to much room for yall, maybe someone else will save it from the dump! :) You two are awesome. I love college move out to!!

Blue and silver has been my favorite ornament combo ever. However, its been many years since I put up a tree. (15/16years) My kids are all grown and have their own houses. They can deal with their own trees, I've retired from trees lol. 😂

That reusable Christmas bag that the ornaments are in is a awesome find. I have them and they're huge bags I use them for my Christmas presents at Christmas, camping trips and the fishing trips my husband and I take to Minnesota each summer.

You can put any of the small plastic cat balls with the jingle bell inside in the blue cat toy that’s missing balls. Just shove them in it. Make sure you clean the toys etc first before giving them to your cat in case the previous cat was sick.

It’s so great that there are two colleges here in Denton! College move out diving is my favorite. I hope to be able to come to your garage sale this year! Those ceiling fans may work, the person throwing them out may have put them up knowing that they’d have to take it down and put the original one back up. I live in an apartment and put up a nice chandelier knowing that I’d have to put the original one back up.

In place of "these wasteful college students, what a shame..." perhaps viewing it as: "The town's ecosystem is part and parcel with the reality of college life. Buying things for college that you will not need in your adult life is common (being stuck with crap you bought in your early 20s! Ugh...) Waste removal is required as a public service to benefit economically from the college. Additionally scavenging is a positive element of waste removal."
