In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Happy New Year. I went out for a walk the day after Christmas and ended up doing my first UK dumpster dive. Although it was really a skip outside a local medical centre. I got 9 litres of 80% ethanol sanitizer, 2 wooden padded conference chairs to fix, and a new looking office chair. Plus more desk fan parts to add to my pile.

@@MikeTheScavenger Just found out that they threw out a "new" $150 office chair because they had screwed on the base backwards. Despite it being clearly marked. So it would throw you of forwards instead of letting you lean backwards. All fixed now. 👍😀

Those diaphragm pumps sell for good money even before being rebuilt (especially the IR ones). I would definitely consider going back for those. You could easily get $50 a pop and those looked pretty clean.

Great score Mike! Plus you saved that business some money by pulling several hundred pounds out of the open top. For those that don’t know (over seas fans maybe), the dumpsters that have the rubber lids are common trash cans and businesses pay a set price monthly for garbage pick up, the open top “roll offs” the business pays by the pound. Mike is saving the environment and helping fellow business owners, all while putting a little coin in his pocket. 😊 Happy New Year 🎉 I 💜 MTS! 🐼💪🏼🦝🏠🏴☠️

The past year has been the most crap one ever for me. From moving 3 times to my car being in a garage currently for 8 months awaiting parts. Suffering from depression and anxiety I am looking forward to the next one. Starting a rock climbing facility and sharing the sport of climbing with as many people as possible. It has taken three years to find a building and will take another 6 -8 months for the build-out. It all comes down to loving what you do and doing what you love! -Happy New Year!

Good afternoon Mike. Great to see you're out there braving the cold on the day after Christmas. You've managed to scavenge so many treasures among those cardboard boxes and trash bags in that dumpster. What are you going to do with it all? Be careful, however, some of those treasures may be edible items - especially if you're planning to donate them to charity. 👍👍
