hi mike i just wanted to tell you i had a good laugh yesterday while watching the scrap and pallet man video . . he was at a dumpster and he could not get some metal out and he said wear is mike the scavenger when you need him . he said that because he could not jump in the dumpster like you do lol

If you don’t sell the cages you could see if a local animal rescue or even spca could use them. Keep on doing what you do Mike always entertaining highlight of my week.

RIP CP Cover the magnet with something strong and thin like canvas or something. Also, put a handle on the magnet so you don't have to kneel in the juice. Love ya, man.

My son through my keys in the canal and a guy with his son were magnet fishing got them out for me lol thank God, always love the videos stay safe stay blessed.

If you house that magnet in a PVC tube with a cap on the end, attach a rod to magnet with a spring and a top end cover with a hole in it for the rod, you can gather, pull plunger (magnet) and all will fall off the pvc housing. That sure WAS a lucky penny

Our scrap yard takes cables and fencing but it has to go in a different pile. But I wouldn't mess with it either if I hauled scrap constantly

Dead Parrot cages, perhaps for the elusive Norwegian Blue, they will regularly sit very quietly in their cage on a shelf :) The magnet is a good starting point for things like nuts, blots, washers and small assorted odds and ends, little more difficult where there are lots of stuff and mixed metals.

That stop light reminded me of my brothers house. He had a stop light that someone wired the lights to change from red to yellow to green with this 3 little button thing he had. My brother had a mount made on it and hung it by the bathroom door near a plug in. When he or his friends would use the bathroom, they would hit the switch to red, and when they was done they would hit the green button

When they were done they probably should have put in on yellow for caution - maybe hold your nose. Then, after 15 minutes, it turns to green. hahahaha

Hi Mike..I enjoyed tagging a lone with you..The cages you could see if you have a animal rehabilitator near you that takes in small wild animals..They would love to have them or put them in a yard sale for 5 dollars a piece..Take care, be safe out there and keep finding that scarp..

The high powered magnet is a good solution to use when you would otherwise need to grab into dumpster juice to colect ferrous stuff.

Maybe what you need is a sand scoop. It would allow you to pickup the small stuff while the water flows out

A sieve or a metal colander with a handle would be a great tool to keep in your truck Mike. You could scoop up stuff like all those little scraps and the juice would just drain out

Put the magnet in a thin plastic cup Then remove it to release the metal! I learned this from watching Bigstackd. Great video as always!

I thought of the same thing, but considering what Mike would be picking up I don't think a cup would hold up long. I was trying to think of something strong and thin like canvas or something.

Those cash registers (at least the one with a drawer still in it) is worth popping open to remove the drawer completely from the housing like the other one you found. I found $30 in one where 3 bills got wedged in the back behind the drawer by that spring, would never have seen it if I just opened the drawer without taking it out completely.

If you find any more traffic light type things in good condition you could either sell them on ebay to be turned into cool lamps for kids rooms or man caves or wire them up yourself to sell

That cable in dumpster 2 is called a down guy for the power poles to help them hold up the weight of the other cables that cross the rd. I use to work with AT&T.

Hey mike you when you find the cases with the foam in them . I use those for some of my tools to protect them. You pass up electrical plastic conduit some people buy that to use to make stuff. Keep up the great work Love your videos . Like you river vids also.

That Midland piece is VHF Ham Radio. Possibly a Repeater setup. Couldn't tell.

@@ZXLNT yes. VHF is a ham radio frequency. PD uses VHF for comms. They also use Repeaters.

Next time you come across all those connectors and small stuff, clear a corner and scrape those things to the clean spot then you can scoop them out easier. Easier to clear out the crap first. Magnet was a good idea!!!

Mike check home depot prices for that electrical stuff. They get 5 bucks a pop for the boxes. You could get about 200 buck for that all sorted.

Magnet fishing at piers and docks and community lake bridges is sometimes pretty good for knives and pliers with a occasional rod and reel. Stronger magnets and longer rope, under and around small rural roadway bridges. Not much telling what you could grab. Great Channel stay safe out there!

The box with the two radios is called a Repeater.They are used by businesses and Amateur Radio.I am an Amateur Radio Operator so I have seen many of them.

It's an old analog base station for a police department. Most police are switching to project 25 phase 2 digital encryption and using analog as a fallback. Most of the analog spectrum is being sold back to the FCC for use in 5G applications.
