I bought the Alpine Trail E from Jensen USA just before Christmas and had several issues. I emailed Marin through the Contact Us. I got an auto reply saying they were closed till Jan 2, then nothing. Some Chipped paint, stripped water bottle cage bolts. Cracked battery cover, and a problem with the fork. I do like the bike a lot and accepted the issues. If you're the type that expects responsive support, I say its a gamble. Maybe I just slipped through the cracks or maybe they aren't thrilled about getting problems with online purchases. I do like the bike overall though.

Hiya, So sorry about that - we absolutely care about it, no matter where you have purchased it from. We can only assume that it slipped through the cracks based on the time of year. Please can you resubmit your email to service@marinbikes.com and someone will get back to you.

Frame paint qualitty. One point which i had never think about... Till i have bought Marin San Quentin 3. Extremely poor and fragile finish, which chip away everytime u fall on stone, rocks etc. I really wanted Marin, i was interested in SQ3. Its really cool bike with great geometry. But now, im very disapointed about this point. In past, I had some czech bikes from Author and one polish Dartmoor. And paint was good. But on my Marin SQ3, its really sh*t (sorry for this, but i dont know better word for what i feel now) 😞

Hi Milan - sorry to hear about your experience with your San Quentin. Paint is covered by a one year warranty, so we'd recommend you reach out to your dealer for support. Thank you.

@@marin_bikesSupport for what... fragile paint is fragile paint. There is no way to solve it. And swap isnt possible, cause my was the last one avalaible in M size. And its my only bike, so i need it. I cant sit on my butt and wait for some solution. 😕

@@milanhromadka4996 Hi Milan - If the paint is not up to our standards, and you are within the window of the paint warranty, we'll get you a replacement frame. Please visit your dealer for them to evaluate and submit it in our warranty portal. Thank you.

@@marin_bikes Now what is the likelihood of that actually happening? And has the paint quality improved at all? Not something I would really bother with personally but just curious as the sheer amount of chips and scratches I've accumulated over a couple months of normal riding is a slight bummer. Quite happy with the frame otherwise (alpine trail e). Also, while I'm airing grievances here (lol), following a pinch flat and rim dent I just found out the cushcore that was in my rear (38mm rim) was a pro instead of a plus which may as well not have been there at all, was that a mistake/stock issue or how that is normally spec'ed?
