I guess in the end, it was always Feyd and the Harkonnens who were the good ones, while Paul and the Fremen were the evil ones. I was rooting for Feyd to win, but now we can only hope the Great Houses will put a stop to this madness in the third installment of the franchise.

I wish there was more of the Baron in the movie. There's a lot of interaction he has with his nephews, Piter, and the Emperor that was truncated in the adaptation. He's much more than just a spoiled sadistic brute.

I watched the SciFi miniseries. Believe me, their depiction of the Baron was spot on. Playing being Flippant and Arbitrary to catch anybody around him off guard. Until using those tactics bit him hard, both in the book and the mini series.

This version of The Baron is a dolt. I don't think Denis understands the characters too well or the themes of Dune for that matter. Vladimir NEEDS plausible deniability with the witches. Him ending Yueh himself completely destroys that. Not to mention the implications of Wanna's death.

I mean, Baron Harkonnen also comes accross as intimidating and calculated. especially in the first Dune movie, he doesn`t need to say a lot to make you either fear or respect him.

Well Paul was Harkonnen all along. The craziest part of this is Paul was more Harkonnen, more brutal, more evil than any other person in the universe and more insidious because he was disguised

The Baron didn't mind Feyd killing him... He just wanted a Harkonnen strong enough to become emperor. He won! PAUL became emperor his grandson which is much better for him than the na Baron anyway. When he died tho he thought he lost like an animal when in reality he world the known umiverse

Слава Україні from Finland, the origin of the Harkonnen name Härkönen -> Harkonnen But now that you've brought it up, Harkonnens start to resemble Russia quite a lot. Murderous, greedy tyrants ruling over oppressed masses living meager, impoverished lives with fear, violence and a tale of common glory and good even though the commoners never see a blink of it, spreading death and destruction to the lands of other people and stealing everything that can be ripped out of the ground.
