My first attempt at a Dunkelweiss dark wheat beer all grain recipe, I went slightly off piste from the style guidelines and missed most of my numbers on brewday but it still came out tasting pretty good (to my palette at least!). Its a very rich bready caramel base with banana and a touch of spice from the yeast. Cheers!

Looks banging that mate,I remember seeing dunkel fester in aldi never tried it though, looks lovely a malty that definitely going on the to do list,thing I love about darker ales is how you can drink them at room temp and it really brings out so much flavour. Cheers mate and great job 🍺🍻

I don’t think I’ve used a liquid yeast for a wheat yet, I will have to try that one out soon 👍🏻

I brewed a regular wheat beer two months ago with WB06 and I fermented it at 23c and got a good banana and bubblegum profile to it. I found some info online where fermentis recommended 23.5c for that flavour profile with WB06 and colder if you wanted the clove to come through

Like the video. I’m bottling my first attempt at a Dunkelweizen tomorrow. Mine was also a little low on the OG, possible from the same issues. Can’t wait to try it. Cheers!

Just to be a little pedantic, it’s either Dunkles Weißbier or Dunkelweizen. Dunkelweiss is not something German brewers brew. Besides that, it looks really tasty. Cheers!

Great video...As a new brewer I find some of this overwhelming when it comes to numbers and working out recipes. Are you self thought and if so would you recommend a good book for beginners like myself?...Learning lots from your vid's by the way

I think most of us are self taught tbh with a good bit of help from videos and forums/groups online. Book wise Home Brew Beer (Hughes) is the one everyone in UK refers to as the bible and is great for recipes in all different styles and basic brewing instructions , How to brew (Palmer) is the most in depth in terms of actual process and technique. I’d also recommend getting one of the recipe software packages and playing with that as it’s the best way to figure out how all the numbers work when you start changing things. Cheers
