I’m young so the only nba I know is the 2010-2020’s but it looks so much more fun to watch basketball from the 80’s and 90’s wish I had been able to see it

How ironic Shaqs first preseason game vs the Heat and his first regular season game was against the Heat and playing against t center Ronnie Seikly who would replace Shaq for the Magic when Shaq went on to play for LA

Basketball back then was played so different than today. Thats why i think it’s difficult to compare players.

7"1 ( 330 ) Shaquille O"Neal will be dominate in the modern Nba. 30-35-ppg. FG-60%. 15-RPG. 3-BPG.
@patrickderocco2962 жыл бұрын
@@marcusreed5862 It's a more natural position. Maintains back chain dominance. A lot of the modern training utilizing hip thrusts, cleans, snatches, push the hips forward, the body adapts and becomes more front chain dominant. This leads to higher injury rates as the body will move the way it's trained, as you see in the modern NBA, many of the players, especially stars, are often injured.

So Shaq's 1st NBA game was against the team he would win his last championship with and against the center who replace him in Orlando after he went to LA.

Isn’t it ironic, Shaq won a ring with the Heat and had his jersey retired there too.

I was living in Orlando when they picked up Shaq. Everybody knew this guy was gonna be phenomenal. They played .500 his first season which was the team's best because they were an expansion team. The next year they picked up Penny Hardaway and made it to the playoffs. The year after that they picked up Horace Grant as a free agent and made it to the finals. The next year they got swept by the Bulls in the playoffs and Shaq left for LA because he knew the Magic weren't going to win a championship as long as Brian Hill was their coach. I can't help but wonder what might have been if they had dumped Brian Hill for a better coach and Shaq had remained in Orlando?

I can't believe scrubs like Matt Geiger and Rony Seikaly were rotational players. Every era will have their superstars, but the 90's reeked of scrub role players. I didn't even mention guys like Donald Royal, Keith Askins, Stacey Augmon, etc. The league depth chart and lower tier talent pool is much better and skilled today.
@matthewholland4077 Жыл бұрын
Seikaly could play, far from a scrub. He averaged nearly 15 and 10 for his career.
