Boxes, containers, bags, shelves and other devices are suitable for this. It's better to sign everything so you know what's where. But despite this, after a couple of months you can’t remember where the right ribbon or button is, and a small mess forms.
Therefore, once every six months I review everything and put it all together again. Some items should always be on hand. These are needles, pins, scissors, crayons, ruler, thread, seam ripper. All this is in plain sight.
Such things require special storage places. For example, for needles - a pincushion. And for other necessary little things, I sewed a mannequin in a skirt.
To make it, first of all you will need a pattern, I downloaded it from the Internet. You also need a stand, I took a disk for it. And of course, filler and flaps.
- First I made the base - it’s better to sew it from flesh-colored fabric. Then I turned it inside out, straightened the seams and filled it with holofiber.
- I sewed the bottom, sewed the top hole, where the neck is.
- The disk was covered on both sides with fabric.
- I sewed the mannequin to the disk. Now it stands securely on the table without distortion and does not fall.
- The most interesting thing is the decorations. We do everything according to our taste.
The main part here is the skirt; it is in it that sewing supplies will be stored.
- I cut out the fabric, the width should be such as to cover the circle of the disk. I stitched a long pocket, which I divided into 3 parts with stitches.
- I sewed the skirt and gathered it with elastic.
The mannequin takes up little space, but it holds a lot of sewing essentials.
It is also stable and pleases with its cute appearance.
It is also an incredibly original decorative item that can serve as decoration for the interior of a sewing room.
