3 жыл бұрынConor McGregor will face a much tougher test than he did in his lightning 2014 win over Dustin Poirier when the pair meet again at UFC 257, former contender Chael Sonnen has insisted.
Ex-featherweight and lightweight king McGregor will return to the octagon for the first time in more than a year when he faces previous victim Poirier on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi on January 23.
Despite McGregor knocking Poirier out in under two minutes when they clashed at UFC 178, Sonnen says 'The Diamond' could avenge that dismal defeat this time.

I see conner being patent like the aldo fight and countering dustins first attack then blits him with a storm of punches for the stoppage in round 1 but i think it will be a upsetting win and dustin will be unhappy with it because he will go till the k.o but mcgregors back with viscous intentions

For Dustin to win he's gonna have to eat a few early and survive, and definitely needs to hurt Conner early...if Dustin can do he has a shot to wear him down bc Conner tends to lose momentum in the later rounds

I dunno if Connor is working on his grappling and jiujitsu, but if dustin goes with Khabib's strategy (not implying that Dustin, as everyone else, is capable of doing what Khabib did) he could surprise Connor. But , ignoring strategies, I hope to see a fight similar to the Mcdonald vs Lawler one. The problem is that I dont think Conor will risk the face, he wants control

Dustin is looking sharp and clean, he is going to prove a point though. He needs to get the fight into the 2nd and 3rd round and avoid Conors sneaky shots. I do have Conor winning this but if Dustin can surprise him with a win I will be delighted for him too. Both guys are awesome.

I will say this tho for Dustin. He’s obviously vastly improved since first match and in his sparring he’s Circling right very well unlike Eddie Alvarez did vs conor. If he can control the exchanges, get in and out while circling away from Conor’s left..it could be close and go to decision but I just see conor adapting and eventually touching that “sweet soft spot on the temple”. Lol

Dustin has a sick physique in the lightweight his so big compared to all the other lightweights and also khabibs big as well but I prefer dustins physique bcz his arms not 2 long like mcgregors or not 2 short like khabibs and his hench man I respect his coach 4 making him look like a beast

I will say Dustin is looking sharp and he’ll of an athlete but only takes one time for Conor to get in his head and it’s all over. Conor is such a pressure fighter and lots of skills so I am predicting pretty same outcome and him winning.

He looks big and strong but slower than he was before. His hands look good but re-watch the video and you'll see he never brings his right hand back to protect his chin after throwing it. He must do this against Conor and that left hand.

Almost all of conors opponents have a cardio volume advantage. But he's great at sleeping guys within that 8 minute mark.
