Always the best range tests. I'm glad that you showed the search-rescue process, they are rarely shown on youtube videos, yet we will all need to know how to find our drones when we overdue the range, lose battery power, or have a malfunction. It shows that you always want to land with a few percent battery left, so you can turn on the lights and beeper when you get close.

Dude you got balls, playing with those batteries and all. I saw the other video you made where you were testing how far the Mini 2 can go. I got to hand it to you, Dustin. I get shaking knees as soon as that indicator turns orange while I am still in the air and I've never been that far, but you....damn nice. Excellent retrieving op also. 👍👍👍

Awesome job locating the" minster" I have 2 reg batts. Plus the 3 grey batts. Great combo. Now it is how i use them black batts. Close proximity, and grey ones for duration flights. Great 🎥 Dustin

WOW Dustin! One of the best videos yet rofl... scared the crap outta me just watching this. I have the original mavic mini, but you know, this range test does give others an idea of just how far these things can go, and for those who just want to fly a kilometer out can most likely do it safely. Also when it wants to land, you have shown how to milk it a little to squeeze a little more out of it. Good job. Happy Flying

This new Mini 2 owner not only found this very informative but really fun to watch. while you were flying I found your take off point on Google Earth.. Then located the ditch site right away. When you were driving there I was trying to direct you to it, LOL Thanks a bunch.

had a little trouble finding this.. but want to see the test result. Dustin, I enjoy your thorough videos, and checking the limits of performance. Wind is the wild card in the range test, but not so much in duration. This is true of real airplanes as well... we learn to work with averages an keep track as we fly, and I am learning from your videos, that drones are no different.

That was very interesting. From what I've heard about Lipos is that once they get low the drop off it much quicker than the Lions so I'm not sure if you're going to have better results towards the end but I'll keep watching 👍

If you tap the battery status meter with your finger it will open a menu that will show you the time remaining until RTH, and the time remaining until Forced landing will occur. It also shows time until battery depletion once forced landing is in progress.

What a thriller and great ending. By the way I noticed the height @ landing around -115 ft due to elevation difference between take off point & landing point. So if someone lives at the bottom of the hill and they are sending drone up the hill, they may want to set RTH height and adjust for uphill terrain elevation.

Today I did 5.5 km out and back. This mini 2 still impresses me everytime. The battery is the limiting factor. At 5.5km out i had perfect reception

Great video,and excitement! Twice I've had to use find my drone twice and found it no problem,i think it ranged from 10 feet the first time to about 30 feet the second timei used it.This is my first drone (mini 2) so i cant compare it to anything else.

Great job making this video. So many of the folks who post these are so obnoxious to watch, I can't make it through them. You are fun to listen to, and thanks for not putting annoying background music or percussion racket in there. Sure glad you got it back, that was a gutsy test. I just ordered a Mini 2. Now I need to find a phone that is compatible with the app. Maybe a used one I can use just for flying the drone. Any recommendations from you or any viewers on a good (used?) phone to get would be appreciated.

You definitely have the most exciting "range tests" ... I've seen some of the guys who do this regularly have to ditch, but it was cool to watch you track down your UAV. I'm wondering if that "find my drone" feature is a part of the DJI App, or a separate app? Anyway, glad you got it back. I think there will likely be more

When I have to land in an emergency situation I look for a good, easy to find and accessible place and then disable RTH for avoiding the drone moving on its own, so it will be at the last recorded position for sure.
