Innovation is what you get from Dutch, always. This is going to be very tempting for me. Question. Can you discuss cleaning options? I like that I can wash my hammock pretty easily and not have to deal w/ a down washing too often. Thank you.

Another thing special about the fabric is that if you have Dutchvision you can see the Dutchware logo in the fabric.

DUTCH, please make a video of what you should look for in a hammock, and what you should expect to come with it. I have been on HForums for 8+ years and still have not bought a hammock because I don't know how to pick one, or what to look for. I feel like if I buy a hammock, there are still a list of others things to buy for hammock camping which means I wont have the money to afford a full setup. This would be great for us noobies, thanks! btw, I am 190lbs and under 6ft

I sleep in a Chameleon and use a symetrical bugnet with a spreader bar. So in theory I could sleep in any direction, but my natural lay is head left/feet right. So I'm looking forward to the moment this new quilted hammock comes in that configuration.

This idea seems good in theory but I don’t like the idea of being locked into one temperature rating. Right now I have a 40 degree underquilt for 4 months of the year and a 10 degree for the remainder. It doesn’t seem too cost effective to have two sewn on set ups. Also, I’m a little baffled by the decision to make the initial offering as head right/feet left as I know the majority of hammock users sleep head left/feet right. I’ll be following this product closely on Hammock Forums, You Tube and Facebook. I’m not too optimistic as to it’s success, though. I’m a die hard DW advocate, by the way.

@@davidschmude I'm thinking about trying hammock in a 40 and an additional zip in 40 for when you I want to go cold... or maybe 40/20... and if I don't want to spend the $ on the zip in right away... I can always use an existing underquilt to augment... the new style hammock.

Why launch with only head right? Most hammockers lay head left. Such a huge miss on what looks like an otherwise great product.

I’ve never really understood why most people lay head left and feet right since most are predominantly right handed. Isn’t it harder to have “ breakfast from the hammock” reaching out left handed? It is for me. They are going to release the hammock your preferred way as soon as they get caught up as he said in the very first video

@@1asphaltcowboy the reason most of us la head left is because we like to keep our right (dominant hand) free and not pressed against the hammock. Nothing wrong with head right, but it's the minority of hammockers, so it was a poor business decision on Dutch's part.

I'm guessing that if you have the 20 degree version and you're out on a really hot night, you can lay in the opposite direction (to the down axis) to start off with to reduce the amount of down beneath you and just flip sides once the air temperature cools and you're happy to have the warmth again? I've hammock camped quite a bit in France and one night it was so hot (75 F) I didn't put my under quilt on, but by 2 or 3 in the morning I was starting to feel a bit chilly. I was so tired I just lay there and shivered a bit rather than get up and unpack my underquilt.

You will likely be able to customize more after the initial rush dies down. We just have to ensure we are able to fulfill orders efficiently at the time of release.
