When you have done this job once in a months time you will realise that a bagged vacuum cleaner will never have these issues! Having cleaned many of them I now have a bagged Miele vacuum and a gtech bagless with no hidden vortices! Good luck. Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for posting. I noticed that the rubber ring on the very bottom was poking out on mine and this told me how to dismantle and get it put back properly.

I just bought a second hand one f these and it has a horrible high pitched whining noise that feels like I have bad tinnitus. Is that typical of these and would a thorough cleaning of the filter help? If not do you know any other way? I'm hoping it's not the motor on it's way out.

could it be blocked and pulling air through the relief valve? Maybe the hose is blocked.

So you cant just use normal screw drivers. Where can you get specialised screw drivers for dyson screws.

They are called torx screwdrivers and you can get them in any hardware

Excellent video. What do you use to get the smells out of the cyclone and my cyclone doesnt click in together with the bin. Do you think I've done something wrong with it?

I find that if you clean it thoroughly and let it dry completely then there should be no smell. Bicarbonate of soda will take away smells but it takes time. If it doesn't click together correctly then it has not been assembled correctly, take it apart again and follow the video maybe?

I don't, but if I had one that was smelly I would clean it first then put it in a box dry with some Bicarbonate of soda on a jar lid inside the box and close the box. And leave it for a few days. If a fridge gets smelly this is what I do. It somehow magics the smell away. Or leave the parts in the sun to dry and that might help. or change the filter.

Just regular dish soap or washing up liquid and a sponge and brush.

1000 thanks for this super tutorial, super and finely explained .... I, as a 74 year old german woman, I managed to clean my Dyson with pleasure. You have a lot of time in Corona times. The tutorial “Changing the filter” is also great .... THANK YOU again😘
