In this video I will show you how to open and replace the deffective motor
of this dyson vacuum cleaner. The motor of this unit was filled of dust by which it creates sparks and burned the coils. It was a factory deffect in which a rubber sealed was a bit opened entering dust inside the motor.

Thanks, it was very helpfull!! One tip, because it wasn't as easy for me as it was for you.. First put in the cable roller and make sure the that the control knob is pointing upwards to where the button should come. Then operate the button while sliding the two parts together and adjust the cableroller until it is just right, then everything falls together perfectly.

Quiero que me enseñes a desmontar la parte de abajo de la aspirador Dyson porque no sé cómo se desmonta y dónde encontrar una goma para poder ponerla y de qué manera a ver si ponéis algún vídeo porque no hay ningu 1 gracias espero que lo pongáis pronto

The best video for replacing the motor of the Dyson DC29 so far. Very good made and easy to understand without any stupid spoken word. Thank you very much. This repair will come next month or so for me.

What a surprise! From the video it looks like it has exactly the same undersized motor as any noname vacuum cleaner on the market. Which means it could be replaced much cheaper or even for free with a recovered motor.

The motor is the heart of the vacuum. They are almost the same as they worked. If you buy a motor from a non authorized dealer of dyson or nilfisk etc.you probably pay less. While on the authorized dealer of parts of the models, you will pay double of its original price. That would be include a 1-3 months guarantee.

With the wheels get two flat headed screwdrivers on opposite sides and hit them hard to pop it off. It's one of those 'don't go softly' bits you find on things designed to be difficult to repair.

yes I did that but not on this video. I supposed to do that first but in the video I've unscrewed first then I pop up the wheels

@@gudvooy2 yeah they aren't easy to get off. Causes less damage if you take them off first too as prying them sideways indents the plastic.

I just replaced mine 3 days ago. I had 6 screws in total. 2 at each wheel, 1 behind washable filter and 1 next to the cord recoil button. This one wasn’t indicated in your video and I was baffled why I couldn’t open the whole thing up. I thought maybe everything was melted on the inside. Anyway, it took me a while to do it, and I’m proud of myself! While putting it together, though, make sure the cord recoilment system is lined up. That was a bit tricky for me. Now I’m back to vacuuming!!

two? i only had two behind each wheel (easier to remove the wheel first, unlike the video) and then one more on top. what did you have?

@DavidNitzscheBell man it was 7 months ago I can barely remember. I think they were somewhere on the "front face" of the vacuum and in a really and I mean really deep hole. Took me dam nearly 15 minutes to find them

it's easier to remove the wheels completely before trying to remove the screws. you didn't show the 5th screw on the top under where the canister goes.

I think I burnt my mum’s dyson..it’s the same as this one! I clicked to switch on the machine...and suddenly smoke was coming out and stopped! Now it doesn’t open.Can I repair it with this way???🤔🤔 she litter was crying !
