Superb! As a visual learner as soon as you pointed out the area around 30/32 seconds I got the problem resolved just from just seeing that. Only removed that side piece & nothing else, basically the rest was irrelevant for how simple it was : ) Thanks!

By taking that first bend out at 53", you'd actually fixed the problem. If you'd left it in the upright position you had it in at 1' 29" & replaced that first piece, it would have held it in the correct position & the Dyson would have stood upright perfectly. It was only the first piece you removed that prevented it. Someone had ovbiously removed it & refitted it incorrectly when the Dyson was in the angled position. I had exactly the same problem 10 minutes ago, & fixed it in 10 seconds.

What did you use to "polish" it?

any household furniture polish will do

Do you take the valve carriage and forward lock out to be polished?

No-I just cleaned it in situ and polished as well as I could the same way. If you work it up n down the polish spreads around ok. Yorky

If they are paint from skirting boards- try thinners or turps on a rag. Some of those "magic erasers" remove some marks too. Yorky

@@yorkknight It's not paint marks it more of a light scuff on the top of the chassis.

The animal version of each model listed is exactly the same to do the clutch cover

Sorry - wrong reply, The stand mechanism works the same on animal upright - excluding the ball type
