I'm guessing the 60v battery never happened and 5kw 72v was the go? I'm building a 4x4 velomobile with a 52v 2000w hub motor on each wheel 20x4 inch fat tyres and 8kw. Should be fun off road. It uses 4 batteries, one for each wheel and has 1600 discs and fully independent suspension.

The second lot work out more eco than the "eco" at 50p ( 25p an hour at the bulk price ) an hour Vs the first one 60p an hour, what's the brand of the second lot ? I use wood fuel direct heat logs, those workout at around £1.09 each and cheaper in bulk, last around 1.5- 2 hours ish when I have the air closed off about half way and they give off a lot of heat

Hello, good video of the tear down. I was interested in replacing the handle lock mechanism. My vacuum is not standing upright and is the up19 which is similar to the dc40 if not the same. By taking that first bend out at 53", you'd actually fixed the problem. If you'd left it in the upright position you had it in at 1' 29" & replaced that first piece, it would have held it in the correct position & the Dyson would have stood upright perfectly. It was only the first piece you removed that prevented it. Someone had ovbiously removed it & refitted it incorrectly when the Dyson was in the angled position. I had exactly the same problem 10 minutes ago, & fixed it in 10 seconds.

All these gimmick videos on Dyson radial root technology vacuums doesn't reveal the hidden issues that do go wrong. Yes cyclone separation has its advantages, basically in the eye of those cyclone centrifugal chambers, the air is cleaner. However with centrifugal forces comes consequences. Over centrifugal and cinetic oscillation ( in the newer) ones causes the real fine dust to get imbedded in those foam gasket, in the hopper unit ( I call it ) and works its way through the tips. These fine micron particles as they swirl causes static cling because some of these become electrically charged and cling to the plastic, no matter how much cyclone activity, these particles will not work loose and become caked on the tips and nozzle chambers. Dyson doesn't need to over technologize vacuums. Another thing is yes when in use the air is cleaner and it is bagless it reduces need of a bag and filters, but at what cost. First of all these caked fine particles over time in the chambers still carries pathogens that can grow and migrate in the crevices of the vacuum. Bacteria like dark environments. Any humidity will add to the spread. Washing that cyclone chamber assembly is a bad move because now, the crevices won't dry properly and now you've added an environment for bacteria to grow. The foam gasket on top of that chamber needs to be removed. The 7 t8 torx screws needs to come off and that foam gasket needs to be thoroughly dried, because if you don't take that off crevice mold will develop. You may need to order a new gasket for the top. Taking all the gaskets and seals out and cleaning the chamber ring completely of dust film will destroy the odors. Best bet is to take all the plastic parts of that chamber assembly and put it out in the fresh air for 12 hours and let it air out. ( It does wonders) My take on this project is this. Bagless is not always better and overboard on the technology is not simplicity and causes more issues in a short time. Replacing bags and filters are cheaper than this service process. This type of service for Dyson is not cheap. I have a Meile that I use constantly and it's from the early 2000. Bags and filters are cheap. I also know people that have an electrolux canister from the 60s and they still can get components. One can still get Bags for a filter queen. But a Dyson dustbin or certain filters are pretty much obsolete.
@yorkknight
@yorkknight Жыл бұрын
Wow- thanks for your point of view. I dont view it as a gimmick video- more a quick guide for someone wanting to do a service / repair. I do agree that they are a bit over complicated- hence why they go wrong and the need for repair videos.
@Ecksterphono
@Ecksterphono Жыл бұрын
@York Knight it's not your video I'm talking about it's the Dyson commercial or engineering videos that are the gimmick videos. There's an individual that's posting videos about common myths on Dyson vacuums and he calls me a tribalist and racist and asks for proof of dustbins going cloudy from sandblasting. He says the vacuums are so go that the vacuums he sees never has cloudy dustbins or canisters. Sadly I can't post pictures in the comments.
