The Dyson V11 Outsize is the biggest, baddest cordless vacuum Dyson has ever built. But how well does it actually perform? We put it to the test!
Buy Dyson V11 Outsize - geni.us/MO68hYi (Amazon)
Buy Dyson V11 Torque Drive - geni.us/u9vf (Amazon)
Buy Dyson V11 Animal - geni.us/ghof (Amazon)
Should you buy the Dyson V11 Outsize?
I would recommend the Dyson V11 Outsize if you’re looking for the following in a stick vacuum:
XL Capacity: If you like the style of the V11, but are looking for something with a bit more capacity. The V11 Outsize can hold almost 3 times the debris as the original V11.
Interchangeable batteries: The Outsize includes two click-in batteries that make it easy to swap them out when one runs out of juice. Using both batteries consecutively, the V11 Outsize has a longer run time of up to 120 minutes.
Suction power of an upright: On Boost mode, the Outsize can pump out up to 220 AW of raw suction power, which is comparable to many other upright vacuums on the market. It is more than sufficient for most messes and can provide that ultra-deep clean when needed.

You didn't opent the gate on the nozzle, that's why it didn't get bigger stuff
@ModernCastle
@ModernCastle 4 жыл бұрын
We didn't open the gate because that's the intended setting for high pile carpets. Even so - I just went and tried the vacuum vs. cereal on high carpet, but with the gate pulled up. It is definitely better, but still pushes some debris forward (about 1/3rd of the original pile). For anyone else reading this comment this is definitely a good work around though.

VLEX LVNE Yeah, I just reduce the suction on vacuums until I can push it but still feel it gripping the carpet. I like it to lift the carpet up to allow lots of airflow on the reverse pass.

Awesome thank you man I’ve been hunting every day for videos on this vacuum lol. I might get it. Right now I have the Tineco S12 plus and it failed on a very dirty carpet and the air coming out smelled bad. For the money I spent on it, the dirty carpet should have not been a problem. Modern Castle maybe I got a faulty one? I really like how it looks and feels. I called Tineco and within 2 days they sent me replacement parts which I have to hand it to them that was super fast given the current circumstances. I’m gonna try the new parts(hepa filter, main filter encasement and two filters) and see if maybe just those were faulty and then follow up with them if I’m still having issues

cub bear it’s a small lobby area where we have workers constantly going through so it gets hit pretty hard with dirt. If I had to empty the dirt bin like 50 times I would have no problem with it. But what happened was everything clogged up and stopped working every 5 minutes. From what I’ve seen on vacuum channels with it picking up heaps of sand, this should have been no problem.

@@ModernCastle I am a little worried about the reports of reliability. I am a vaccum dork so take them apart and clean them regularly and assume battery issues can be solved with the new click in battery. Guess we will see after the 2 year warranty. Any thoughts on Dyson cordless reliability?
@ModernCastle
@ModernCastle 3 жыл бұрын
@@boowiebear I think the reliability reports that some platforms have purported are largely over blown, especially with the more recent V10 and V11 models. Many of the reliability claims I see are with regards to the battery (and almost always on the V6, 7, and 8). If those batteries last 2-5 years I think that's more than a reasonable expectation of reliability for that type of battery for a vacuum. But especially in the case of the V11 I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Here's how the batteries have held up on my Dysons. V6 - battery lasted ~3 years V7 - battery is still going strong, I've had it for ~3.5 years V8 - I don't own one, but I've frequently tested one of my friends units. The battery last 2.5 years, though I'm fairly confident the reason it died at 2.5 years is because I dropped it off a 4 foot counter while I was testing the run time. During that run time test (where I dropped it) the battery ran on low for a solid 40 minutes, so I really don't think there was anything wrong with the battery. V10 - battery is still going strong, I've had it since March 2018 V11 Torque Drive - battery is still going strong, I've had since March 2019 V11 Outsize - battery is still going strong, I've had it since March 2020 Hope this helps!

Does the main roller continue suction if you've removed the brush roll? My wife has a wool rug she wants to be able to vacuum softly with.
@ModernCastle
@ModernCastle 4 жыл бұрын
In theory, yes, but I'm not sure you'd be able to remove the roller on the full brushroll. However, the V11 comes with plenty of attachments that would make for a softer way to vacuum your wool rug. The upholstery tool would provide straight suction that should work well for that.
@battery_wattage
@battery_wattage 4 жыл бұрын
I thought the cyclones were for used to reduce the amount of dust that would reach the removable filter.
@ModernCastle
@ModernCastle 4 жыл бұрын
That is part of it, but most of the filtration is ultimately done via the HEPA filter. The bigger part is the suction power that additional cycles are able to generate. It's unclear to me if that's the cyclones themselves or just the sheer fact that bigger motor = more cyclones = more suction (probably the later).
@battery_wattage
@battery_wattage 4 жыл бұрын
I believe that the motor creates the suction not the cyclones. The cyclones should be creating centrifugal force to throw the dirt into the bin and allow somewhat cleaner air through.

@ModernCastle
@ModernCastle 4 жыл бұрын
Based on our tests, it was virtually flawless on carpets. Among cordless vacuums it is easily the best on the market. Even compared to a broader range of uprights, in terms of suction it's similar, but in terms of usability and convenience it crushes most others. If you've got $600 to spend on a vacuum it's hard to imagine a better choice than the Outsize.

@ModernCastle

The thing with just about all vacuums, but particularly those that use a spinning brushroll...it takes a forward and backward pass to fully agitate the dirt in a way that allows it to be lifted from carpet and other fabric surfaces. What you see at 6:22 is a single forward pass on auto mod (about 50 AW). With backward pass and/or running on boost mode easily gets the rest of it.
