I put some limiting straps on the rear end of the E Revo 2.0 and test it out. I'm trying to solve the issue of the rod ends being pulled off the shock rods.

Genius fix here sir. Thank you. I’ve ordered the parts. The moment I cart wheeled (93.5 times it appeared :-), and saw the truck was looking a little weird...I knew this is what had happened. you could probably preserve the health of the shock ends on all your RC's by extending the length of your ramp so its more gradual with a small kick at the end. Hitting short ramps at high speed will bottom out your suspension really hard. Just a thought! love the content!!

I got one within the last week, you'll love it! Also DO NOT buy aluminum toe links, the rod ends are crap. The stock toe links and pushrods will take a beating, especially with chassis brace and straps, I got 90mm for mine. Also I put HD progressive springs from VG. So I'd say springs, brace, straps, extra hardened steel 14t pinion and metal 54t spur, rpm front bumper and rpm control arms are the best upgrades you can get. I wasted money on 7075 toe links...I suggested 14/54 pinion and spur bc a video recommended that for cooler running...we'll see...also get the yeah racing dual fan and heatsink for the motor.

@@timsgta My comment, being a year old.....since then I got it, put the limiting straps on, ran it a few times and then sold it on ebay. It was a great truck, but too much truck for my running space. It was really hard on my lipos as well. I also found I had to set braking to about 60% or it would flip over itself on pavement...lol. Those brakes were amazing! I kind of regret selling it, but just tight on space. The telemetry was cool too! Also, if I remember right, it had dual steering servos that sometimes, needed to be unhooked and synced up. Some people had the 2 servos fight each other which burnt them out.

I bought those straps also but did not buy spacers or anything so i was thinking on how to connect the straps to the suspention and i came with the easiest solution i could think of . My straps are 85mm and i just placed the strap over the brace from suspention to suspention and it fits like a glove
@outsourcedrc4 жыл бұрын
That doesnt work. That only limits the suspension from each other, not from the chassis and thats what you need.
@freakiebeakie4 жыл бұрын
@@outsourcedrc the strap i use is 85mm and when i lift the car the suspension can not travel to the end. i understand what you mean that i connected them and that it seems if they limit eachother but that is not true. while i drive they can move because then the strap is not pulled at (sorry for my english xD) . those straps only need to limit the suspension when i jump. the pushrods only get pulled really hard at jumps and not while driving normally. if the pushrods damage i can always change it but i think it is oke like this.

This is something we used to do to our 5B/5T's back when those 1/5 scales blew up in popularity. I would stick with the 100mm and no spacer. If you look at the video clips, whenever you manage a nice flat landing when the spacer isn't installed, the rear suspension does it's job and the Revo lands well. With the 10mm spacer you added, the rear end doesn't function as well and the Revo's back end always bounces hard even when you do manage a good landing. If anything, try a 5mm spacer but it looks like the spacer isn't needed.
@outsourcedrc5 жыл бұрын
The straps are the perfect length with that spacer. The suspension doesn't drop any lower if I undo the straps. I'm not sure why it seems more bouncy after. It may just be the clips I selected. I didn't post everything.
@Clickbaiters5 жыл бұрын
Outsourced RC it's not a matter of the rear suspension dropping lower, aka, droop. It's a matter of allowing the springs to decompress more when the the rear end is on the way up. In any event, if it works for you, it's all that matters. Like you said, those are hand picked clips so it's limited on what people can see. Have a good one👍

Did you try connecting straps from the rear brace mount out to the pusrod ends? Then it would perhaps help save ripping any of the ball ends out. I'm about 50/50 as to which ones rip out, either the shock or a pushrod end. Might need to get an alloy body mount so it doesn't flex though for that to help. Still use the plastic mounts for the body, but the "tower" part would be alloy as the anchor.

You have inspired me to make my own. Used some plastic coated cable I had when I made these for my 5B many years ago. However, I didn't have any eyelets small enough/strong enough to work, so I had to fold the wire into small loops, wrapped them with more wire, then soldered it a lot and heat shrunk. Not quite as nice as yours, but hopefully will help keep all ball ends from ripping off. Seems fairly solid and I made them just short enough to where the arms hang gently on the cable vs the suspension at full extension. gmarquee98.x10host.com/myPics/98gmarquee/erbe/2018-0611-ERBE-RearShockLimitStrap02-rear.jpg gmarquee98.x10host.com/myPics/98gmarquee/erbe/2018-0611-ERBE-RearShockLimitStrap03-top.jpg gmarquee98.x10host.com/myPics/98gmarquee/erbe/2018-0611-ERBE-RearShockLimitStrap01-side.jpg

Why is it the back that only needs them? Doesn't the front tires and suspension get whipped up when you accelerate? Or is it not bad. I basically just asking if I need this for the front shocks too. Thanks for the great vid!

The Rear does different things than the front. Its not the same motions. You dont need limiting straps on the front.

i couldn't find 90mm ones in stock anywhere so i went with 85mm i figured its only .20 of an inch shorter than the 90mm hope it works

They work. You just won't have as much travel. I'm not sure how much it impacts the suspension
