I live on a Farm near Calgary, Alberta. Ive been using s Chinese Deisel Heater in my trailer. It keeps my 35ft trailer warm in -35C weather. I also have spare units. E08 error is mainly cause my a blocked burn chamber. You need to deep clean the mesh screen thats inside the burn chamber. (Not Visible) Also change the small inlet screen plus make sure the vent hole is clear. Always good to have a good selection of spare parts on hand.

I bought a batch of 10 atomiser screens and always replace them if I service the heater. I've since put in rebuildable fan motors to this one and my spare heater.

If you click the ok button you can keep an eye on the engine temp to see if it dips before it cuts out, great informative video👍

My heater worked perfect.y until a couple of days ago , and it sent the same code E-8 , I tried getting all the air out of the line , but it work work ok for a time or two , but in the morning when it was cold , it wouldn’t work same code , I saw a utube vid a guy found that the tank cap had a diagram in side the cap it would get rigid when cold enough and air lock the tank , so I eliminated it and guess what , works great again . We here in Oregon have just started getting frost in the morning . I wondered why it worked after noon and not in the early mourn ! Now I know why ! Air lock !

E-08 signifies 'burn issue' and I've since learned it has many causes, even low voltage. If it always throws E-08 and no other codes it's a process of elimination. Well done for finding your issue, that's another new one to me.

It was surprisingly simple to do and a really unusual cause of that code but does make such perfect sense I was surprised nobody else seemed to cover it. Thanks for the kind words.

It looks like you need a higher burner casing temprature to burn the off the soot and to stop it ultimately forming again. Low temps give the soot chance to build.

The blockage was in the fuel inlet pipe so nothing to do with burn temperature. I think it was a result of the cheap supplied filter breaking and allowing dust and dirt to get in but not had a single issue since.

Great catch on the tube restriction. I carry a can break clean and the red sprayer wand, i'll use that to blow out the fuel line. Thanks

Thanks for that tip, I’ve been having endless E-8 error issues and even after changing a faulty pump it came back ! I did strip my heater down after watching your video but my fuel intake pipe was clear. What I eventually found out was the main control board was faulty and having put a new one in it’s now working fine 🙂 So, if anyone else is having he same issue and have checked ll the other common faults associated with this code, as well as checking the fuel inlet pipe as per this video, also consider that the control board may be faulty.

I'm so glad you managed to fix it, they're not that hard to strip down are they?. Was it just throwing up an E-08 or did you get other codes?

Hi @@AMGMANIAC , I’ve never had anything but an E-8 code to be honest. The heater is a Vevor 5Kw one and I bought it just over a year ago to heat my large ( 23’x10’) shed so I could work in there in the winter, and electric heating was too expensive ! I installed it in January last year after watching all of John McKay47’s videos to avoid the common mistakes. It ran fine when used periodically from January to March last year and I ran it a couple of times briefly during the summer as advised. When I came to start using it in September it ran for about 1/2hr then showed an E8 code which turned out to be the pump had failed. I bought a new one and this failed after 2 days ! This was sent back to Amazon as I thought it was faulty and another one ordered. Again this ran fine for about 10hrs then that failed. At this point I contacted John in Australia and he suggested the fuel left over from March might be contaminated with water or something else. It turned out there was water in the fuel ( probably from condensation and also the internal metal fuel pipe had corroded. I replaced the tank with a small 5litre one and changed the filter and pump once more🙄 This worked well for about 3 weeks on and off then the E8 started again, sometimes the heater would start to shutdown, then fire up again on its own but only for a few minutes. In desperation I fully stripped the heater and I even replaced the glowplug, atomiser screen and casing temperature sensor in desperation, but this didn’t solve the issue. In the end I replace the control board today ( which came with a broken LCD screen but luckily my original worked with the new board ! ). Fingers crossed it’ll keep working now 🙂 What’s annoying is that the E8 error code covers a large range of possible faults, this makes it very difficult ( and expensive ) to sort at times !

@@mrfixitnorm4201 Yes it sure seems to be one of those codes with multiple causes. To cover myself I ordered another 5Kw heater so that I had any spare parts, it still cost less than £100, so was surprised when in my case it appeared to be a tiny blockage. I'm now once again getting E-08 errors myself which I can overcome by starting the heater at 8c and gradually increasing 3 or 4 degrees at a time until I reach 35c which seems to clear the error for a few days. I've also put an airline directly onto the fuel inlet nipple of the heater and cleared a blockage but it eventually came back. I'm going to strip it down again and replace the atomiser screen but it will be interesting to see what I find this time. Mine has been in for nearly 2 years now and being able to strip it down and rebuild it myself is a very handy skill to possess but I also like to hear the problems experienced by others to get a better understanding of the heater. @@AMGMANIACI’m not sure if we have same heater. Mine is 7KW and I’m in USA. After summer period mine wouldn’t start with only 8C on the screen had to go all the way up

If its Chinese it will most likely be a 2kw or 5kw, check the label. I'd be interested to know.

Well, after recently saying on here it was still running fine I've developed a fault E06 which I know to be the motor so will soon be releasing a video covering that repair.

They are good heaters if you take the time to tune them properly. German heaters are way way over priced

Don't you have to have the cover on the heater unit so that the fan can blow the fresh air over the heating unit to provide you the hot air ?

This was a strip down. When the heater was fired up the cover was on.

I just keep mine running on max 35c

I have 3 dogs, we'd all cook if I ran mine at max. Running at full power will eventually give you issues but it does burn off all the residues. I've heard of people running at max before powering down specifically for that reason. As it happens my burn chamber has always been clean when I've taken it apart and I run mostly at either 25 or 8.

What did you clean the fuel injection pipe with? I tried compressed air and I'm barely getting any air through. How free flowing should the air flow be? If i blow in the pipe with a lip seal it feels like nothing at all is going through.

100psi from my compressor with an air gun attachment, getting just a tiny bleed through.

@@alexkruse312 I just used compressed air like you. Have you replaced the atomiser screen? That might be blocked with carbon deposits. If not you can replace that burn chamber section as well as the screens.
