Her expression, gait, dress, hairstyle told him that she was from respectable society, married, in Yalta for the first time and alone, that she was bored here...
In the stories of the impurity of local morals, there was a lot of untruth; he despised them and knew that such stories are mostly concocted by people who themselves would gladly sin if they could, but when the lady sat down at the next table three steps from him, he remembered these stories of easy victories, of trips to the mountains, and the tempting thought of a swift, fleeting connection, of a romance with an unknown woman, whose name and surname you don't know, suddenly took hold of him.
He gently beckoned the spitz to him and, when it approached, wagged his finger at it. The spitz growled. Gurov wagged his finger again.
The lady looked at him and immediately lowered her eyes. "He doesn't bite," she said and blushed.
"May I give him a bone?" - And when she nodded affirmatively, he asked amiably, "Have you been in Yalta long?"
"Five days." - "And I am already stretching out my second week here."
They were silent for a bit. "Time passes quickly, yet it's so boring here!" she said, not looking at him.
"It's just customary to say it's boring here. The ordinary person lives somewhere in Belev or Zhizdra - and he's not bored, but comes here: 'Oh, how boring! Oh, the dust!' You would think he came from Grenada."
She laughed. Then they both continued to eat in silence, like strangers; but after lunch, they walked side by side - and a playful, light conversation began, of free, content people, to whom it didn't matter where to go, what to talk about.

Would anyone here be interested in watching "The Most Dangerous Game" and translating the villain's occasional Russian quotes? It's an old black and white movie, but I'd say it's good (and action-packed and exciting).

What is hindering me in my begining of learning Russian is that I don't have it in my memory how to type in Russian with the proper keyboard. Is there any software that would run on MacOS or Mac's iOS that teaches typing, that someone could recomend? I need to train myself in how to type without thinking about it, as I can in English, before I try to get serious about learning this language.

If you don't have an additional language printed on your keyboard, you can get a set of russian letter stickers for it, and find a pic of russian layout. As far as I know, they're cheap. If I understood your question correctly. Pair it with blind-typing training in russian language available online and it should do the trick

@@wildhovercraft7242 Thanks. I have bought an Apple Russian keyboard. To switch keyboards is only two seconds so that part works well. What I can not find is a proper typing program. A good typist starts off with drills for two or three letters at a time, so one can quickly see a Russian letter or word and not have to think about finger movements. I've found one that has sentences to type out, but that is relatively inefective. Still looking though. Thanks for the reply. :)

there's also a qwerty version (often called "student") if youd like to use that instead
