I couldn't agree more about the final minutes & the things said about pastors needing to talk about sexuality. The thing is, it is covered in ALL of the Bible if you just keep your eyes open, it's not just the 6 'clobber' passages so to speak. Recently I heard Jeff Durbin in a sermon mention it as the 'one sin we like to pick on a lot' but went on about how it really is the same as any other thing God calls an abomination! So, we're gonna single out the homosexual abomination but not talk about this other abomination, YOUR abomination? And it made me wonder how many things are called that in the Bible, if someone could make a list they'd see how much EACH and EVERY one of us as humans needs freedom & forgiveness from abominations. Yes, it's difficult b/c homosexuality is now an entire identity and therefore has a bigger hold on people, but I do believe it would make more sense to more people if it was regularly preached about as one in a vast list of MANY things God hates. We don't keep a serious perspective about what God hates! If we did know its seriousness more, we'd have that love of obedience & thankfulness for our salvation!! ...ok, i'll get off my 'soapbox' now. 😉

A prominent anti-gay apologist once said that his audience had no desire to see the other side of this debate, the side I present. The silence here screams that.

I find it interesting that every time I bring up Bible apologetics, Beckett and people like you have no answer. We go by the Word of God, not what seems "right" to you .

He gives only one perspective, that of an "ex-gay." There are countless of us who walk daily in our faith with our gay identity intact. Give that perspective to be fair.

@@kimberlysollenberger1552 Stop making an issue over nothing. When I say I'm a "Gay Christian," It only means I'm saying I'm giving you the perspective of a homosexual in the Church and the experiences unique to me, just like someone saying they are a black man or woman in the Church is telling you they have a unique perspective to them. That's all. I know you hate what I said in my first post. Examine yourself as to why you do?

@@kimberlysollenberger1552 We aren't talking about race vs sexuality. I'm just saying why each one says they're black or gay Christians. You had no choice over the over skin color like I had no choice over my sexuality, but you keep on seeing this big difference between us.

He lived a vacuous life. Straight people also live vacuous lives as do a lot of "Christians". There's no shame like "Christian" shame. As long as he's happy, that's fine, but recruiting people to convert who they are because a 4000 yr old book says so is shameful in itself, and sexual orientation is complicated (see all those great "straight" Christian pastors who were found with young male prostitutes - it's not uncommon). Matthew 7: 1-2
