Im glad yall are reporting on the EA lay offs. I was one of the testers who got laid off the apex teams a month ago and it came without warning and after a big meeting praising our efforts. It sucks hard so its nice to know people out there actually care about wanting to report that shitty behavior. The meeting telling us we were all laid off btw was 5 minutes long over zoom call and again came with no warning whatsoever.

Covid has taught us, once and for all, that we don't have to go outside anymore. For anything. We just had to get over human contact and fresh air and all that outdated hoo-ha.

Human interaction has proven that it's important. Game companies aren't hosting these events because they don't have too and will save lots of $$ in just making up some lame online video as opposed to a live event.

This worries me about Comic-Con, if wondercon is an indication studios just aren't showing up for it since Covid. Despite no studios I hope it can still thrive on for the fans because I still have a good time.

After E3 went down I feel like I know about games more or less 2 weeks before they come out.. There's no game I'm looking forward to in the future, cause there's no show to get me hyped about it. E3 used to keep me rolling with anticipation for a good long while. Game Awards and summer games fest just don't bring bangers... I used to have tons of games to look forward to a year or two into the future, that just doesn't happen anymore. Sucks.

i never understood E3. sure it might be cool to see the consoles if there were new ones to showcase, but i feel like you're just there in a theater watching gaming trailers. maybe some exclusive gameplay that will come out online anyway in the future. i did think conan at E3 a couple times were hilarious. but this is the new trend for a lot of companies, not just gaming.

E3 was honestly essential in the 2000s decade cause KZfaq was still young and not much about gaming news was on here. Back when G4 was a channel (no not the reboot thankfully) they broadcast the big conferences and have exclusive interviews and gameplay showcases. Then all that video would be on their website if you couldn't catch something live. But that really changed when every website would just stream everything(which Nintendo of all companies started that trend)) and now it's to a point where publishers and developers just do their own streaming so E3 is basically obsolete now

I would like the idea of E3 being a time of year rather than an event. I also like what Sony did a few years and have a virtual booth with demos and trailers. That was pretty cool.
