I strained my Gastro last night. I wish I could say I was sprinting away from a bear while holding my newborn in my arms, but I was jumping around with my 3 year old in the living room. I started running for the first time in a while, 3 days before, so I think it was just overworked. Great video. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Pulled my calf bad while playing soccer two months ago, couldn’t walk for the first couple of days. Played on it after 1 months of rest and reinjured it. Thanks for this video, I did not know how to rehab it properly until I watched.

This is the best video I have ever seen !!! I have been dealing with Achilles tendonitis for quite some time - unable to run or bike without the pain. These exercises and detailed explanation for slow progression has helped me a lot . I definitely recommend this ! Thank you so much . I can’t wait to get back to my triathlons

THANK YOU!!! Sustained calf injuries to each calf in back to back weeks of playing football. Hadn't played in a few years and am in decent shape but not really great football shape. I have had issues with "tennis leg" and the complete mystery of when it would be safe to return to playing without the fear of a re-injury. This is the first advice I have seen on both the exercises and the benchmarks of muscle preparedness to follow before returning to play. Thank you!

this video is so helpful, a few months ago I injured my calves and then got shin splints. I have been rehabilitating that and only now it came to my mind that these rwo can be connected. Now I'll get rid of them forever

I have to agree with all the comments or most of the comments. What a great video to guide me on my rehab. I tore my calf muscle about a month ago and have yet had the confidence to do any sort of exercise with it. It’s still painful to walk if I move it the wrong way. At least I know there’s a set of criteria to follow to get better. Thanks for posting the video.

This is a great video! I'm 67 years old and picked up tennis after a year of abscence, resulting in mild calf injury twice. I still have very strong and explosive gastrocnemius', but now know how to make them meet their own strength! Thanks!

Thank you very much for sharing this video. It is incredibly comprehensive and has the potential to benefit numerous individuals in their journey to gradually strengthen their muscles and recover from injuries. I recently began running last year and increased my training volume significantly this year. Unfortunately, due to this sudden increase, I encountered an issue with my left soleus muscle, which prevented me from continuing my running or even hopping on that leg. However, I was still able to hop on both legs without any issues. After more than a month, I have experienced gradual improvement, and I recently completed a 5k run at our local Parkrun. To aid in the strengthening of my calf muscles, particularly the soleus muscle, I have been diligently performing the exercises you outlined. Additionally, I have found that using a foam roller has been beneficial in releasing any knots or tightness in the area.
