EAA WINDICATOR...IS INEXPENSIVE A GOOD CHOICE FOR CARRY?

This is a tabletop review of the EAA WINDICATOR .38 SPECIAL. In this video we will discuss the history and development of the firearm, and provide side by side comparison with other popular models to establish scale and help visualize what it would be like carry this based on familiar platforms. We will outline all of the features, and how these features may or may not be important to you based on your personal needs. Range performance will also be discussed along with different tested methods of carry and how comfortable it is to carry on a regular basis. Last, we will provide an overall opinion of how this firearm stacks up for concealed carry purposes. Thanks for watching!

Bought one of the 357 snubbies several years ago, biggest issue I had was finding a holster for it. Wound up getting an L -frame holster because of the thick parts of frame, but it shoots well. It's built like a tank ! Heavy! Never seen the 38 version, only the 357. Good review 👍 . Thanks 😊.

I have the .357 4 inch blued version and I love it!!! I've had it going on 4 years and the only issue I have had is the grip worked loose and had to add a washer to tighten it up. Put about 200 more rounds through it and it appears problem solved. Great gun!

I just bought the 4 inch 357 magnum a week ago and fired about 50 rounds through it and I really like it so far.🍻

Mine has run just fine, it stays loaded with 158 grain lead round nose and is always within arms reach of the recliner.

Disassemble it, and take some 5,000 grit polishing pads with a couple drops of Ballistol on them, and polish the internals. When your pad turns Grey, stop. You don't want to remove metal, you just want to smooth it out. The hammer pull and trigger will feel a lot smoother.

Just get the 357 it takes all ammo. Got one 2years ago hasn't let me down. Only thing is I can't find a kydex for it

i have the 2 inch snub nose. bought a galco open top for it and a galco snap holster also. they both work for it. good fits and glad i got them. call them and talk to them. that's what i did.

It looks like it was built a lot like a Charter Arms revolver. It seems strange that they offer a 357 version but still recommend no +P in the 38 version.

That is because the cylinder is swapped out for .38 vs. .357. obviously +p is fine in the .357 (compare one of each model and you will see the cylinder difference inmediately - wven stamped on the inside of it.

If you want to be able to use your +P 38 SPL just get the 357mag. Ruger LCR is definitely a gun I will have at some point in the near future just cuz it’s so small and tactical

I have the 357 snub. When I first got it, the rounds stuck in the cylinder, the bouble action was sticky but after shooting it 100 rounds, everything smoothed out and it feels great now

I got one that is blued with a two inch barrel, only shot it a few times and it runs. not the first time on hearing the double action is a bit rough and it's a bit rough on mine as well.

I wonder how easy it would be to do a trigger job on it. It looks like a Smith clone and those are pretty easy to slick the triggers up (budget Smith revolvers have garbage triggers on them to begin with, so I don't see the Windicator as that much different)

If it is made in Germany, I think it is rated also as CIP 38special. And CIP 38special is higher pressure than SAAMI +P 38 Special.

In the owner’s manual it states.38+p voids the warranty

Seems to be based on Colts designs. Vented rib barrel, rotation of the cylinder but not the cylinder release.

I just got the 357 snubbie and paid 450 with tax. I assume the 38 only is a bit lighter?

single action in a 2" snub nose just to try it out 50 yards clay pigeon and the clay pigeon lost 3 shots first 2 to see where the sights were hitting 3rd shot busted the clay pigeon I was so impressed I bought the 4" and the 6" oooooo and by the way mine are stainless

I have two problems with this. First, I much prefer a "double action only" revolver as they are safer and more reliable in your pocket. Second, while I recognize that this is a very strong revolver, it is too heavy for daily carry in my humble opinion.

Much better revolver than the toy Ruger. With the LCR you couldn't hit a Bull in the Butt with a Base Fiddle. Accuracy in a carry weapon does matter and the Windicator is a well made gun. at a great price.

I don't think the Europeans acknowledge +p . I think if it's rated for 38 special it's good to go as far as high pressure ammo.

cmon, get some snap caps and pull it in double action for a while and break the internal components in and it should smooth up. Any revolver (Including S&W's) should be given some break in time on snap caps before you judge their double action trigger. This gun should improve in time with some break in time. Hell My newest S&W 686 felt a little gritty at first until i put some time in on the trigger with snap caps. German built machined products are generally pretty precise. I wouldn't write it off just for the new (Not broken in) trigger

It's a $350 revolver that shoots ok and is reliable. For the door pocket of the car it is perfect. A car jacker would think twice with this revolver stuck in his nose.

Those are Pos guns. I owned one for less then a week before replacing it with a ruger sp101.

Carrying this in a shoulder holster isn't hard, of course you have to dress around it and depending on what time of the year it is that may not be feasible.

I just wonder why you bought this gun, in the first place, your disdain for the gun shows through your review. There's no comparison with the LCR because of size. You don't like the hammer, the trigger is to gritty and the grips aren't up to your expectations. I can tell you don't think this gun will live up to your review. The Windicator is a budget revolver, good workmanship and price comparison par none. I just wonder why you have an LCR and not a KORTH which is much to your excellent standards. I feel your review isn't justified, as you really dislike anything about this gun which decimates a quality review.
