I have the southpaw version. Never had an issue with performance. It performs great and is quite accurate. No complaints

Had ours on the range today, 20 rounds of 158gr fmj, zero problems...we carried the gun for a long time, now it shines on HD duty...every 3 or 4 months we'll shoot a few rounds just to keep the 'feel'...zero complaints, been a good little revolver...

I have that gun and I really like it. I like the grips on it. Not a fan of 2 finger grips. I bought mine hardly used for a great price, but I have seen new ones for around $360. I also have a Charter Arms Professional, 6 shot 357 with a 3 inch barrel. Made in the USA and a lifetime warranty. Customer service is amazing.

Buffalo Bore makes a Great 38 for these Charter Arms revolvers; 150 grain Wad Cutter standard pressure short barrel round that travels 850 FPS non +P. Expensive but perfect for this 12 oz revolver! I have the Goldfinger model. Got it just cause it is cool to own!!🤠👍

I also primarily carry a 642. I have the 45 Auto version of the Charter Snubbie, and honestly it doesn't weigh a lot more than my 642 either...well, until you put 5 rounds in it...

Thanks to your channel, I've become a big fan of Sticky Holsters. I have one for every handgun in my collection. I used them around the house mostly, they are easy to tuck into the waistband and walk around all day. I only have 3 that I will use when I go out and about in public. They're also good for storage of pistols in the safe as they offer protection against scratches.

I replaced the 2 finger grips on my S&W J frames with the old "splinter grips", because I get a almost 3 finger hold on the frame which helps with recoil since my pinky can put pressure on the bottom of the grip frame .

Thanks for the video. Subscribed! I've been carrying snub nosed revolvers for over 50 years now. As an off-duty handgun during my LE career and as a retired LEO that carries everyday. My favorite carry revolvers have been the S&W "hammerless" models. I have a Model 40, Model 640 and Model 642. I also have a Colt Detective Special and a S&W Model 19 2-1/2". Years ago the Charter Arms Bulldog .44 was a hot commodity for off duty LEO carry. The Charter Arms guns seem to be good quality and their price is attractive. I am not a fan of rubber grips (of any size) for concealed carry. Nice for the range to make these little guns more controllable, but if you are wearing light clothes, the rubber grips can "stick" to a shirt and leave your gun exposed when exiting a vehicle or reaching for something on a high shelf in the grocery store. I prefer a wood grip and a Tyler T-grip adapter. A wood "Boot grip" provides the same feel. (the S&W 642 uses a rubber "boot grip" as it comes from the factory) Under heavy clothes or in a coat pocket, it's not an issue. But I retired to Florida, so I rarely wear a coat or heavy clothes. Just something to consider for warm weather concealment. I handload for every cartridge I shoot. For practice...trigger control, sight alignment, I use 148 gr. cast wadcutters loaded with 2.8 grs. of Bullseye for about 700 fps. Very light recoiling. Great for practice! For carry use I load it with Buffalo Bore 158 gr. +P lead SWC-HP. I use this load in both the Model 642 and the Model 19. For carry, I use a DeSantis "Mini Scabbard" leather OWB holster for all the .38 snub nosed revolvers. It will fit both the 5 and 6 shot revolvers with a tensioning screw adjustment. I am sure the same holster would fit the Charter. For the Model 19, I use an El Paso Saddlery "Combat Express" belt slide holster.

They have shorty grips also. I have the 2 finger boot grip on my .32 H&R Undercoverette Light. Holds 6 also, so that's nice.

I feel the same way about capacity. I think the folks so concerned about capacity are the 9mm is king ninjas. Knowing deep down its a poor choice for self defense so they going to need all them rounds to stop the threat

I'll probably be picking up a 3" blue steel Charter Arms "Bulldog" in .44Spl in the very near future. I could see a second purchase of an Undercover Lite too as neither The Lovely Bride nor I can stand the poorly made POS Smith five shot, "Here I am!" laser equipped, J frame, snubby we purchased new in 2019.

Shorter black two fingers rubber grips are available at their OWS. As well as a spurless hammer.

good review . there are a number of grip options that can be had for this gun. altamount comes to mind. they have smaller grips and they have bigger grips. that is one of the beauties about a revolver.

My wife's Undercover came with a compact rubber grip that is the same as the one on the gun you tested, except shorter, and much better than the Smith & Wesson grip. The cylinder issue can be corrected by loosening the screw in the face of the rear of the cylinder opening. The Undercover is, from my own experience better than the S&W in every important category.

@@dancruze I would say it is. My first carry snub was a S&W 442. Comparing the things I mentioned above, I would say the Charter Arms is a better gun than the S&W.

Charter is the best revolver - solid one-piece frame, triple lock up, internal crane. Most responsive warranty program. What more can you ask for and at an affordable price!

Their all stainless steel version is only 16 ounces, so not even 2 ounces heavier than a Smith air weight. I like the factory grips too for comfort. For 300 bucks, you can't go wrong, I think. Thanks for the video

Bought one of these a couple years ago. In under 30 rounds fired, ìt began to misfire. It continued to get worse. Off to the factory for repairs. Month later,it returned. Still misfiring. Got rid of it as fast as I could! Bought a S&W 642. Couldn't hit a flock of barns with it at anything beyond a few feet. Traded it off. Ended up with a Taurus 856UL. All black. 3" barrel. +P rated. Accurate and reliable. Finally found the perfect solution for my needs. 👍

Buffalo Bore has a standard pressure load that duplicates the old FBI load and of course the classic 148gr HBWC load still has the goods.
