The backing vocals during the second verse are just flawless. I love how at around the 2:32 mark you can hear Henley come in very prominently when they sing “…can’t find it anywhere…” You know your band is stacked with talent when Don Henley’s voice isn’t the best choice to deliver a song. Randy’s performance here was untouchable. This Eagle’s lineup was by far the most dynamic and much of it was due to what Randy Meisner brought to the group. This performance is proof of that! I think we all love this song so much because we were all from the same generation when the Eagles were performing live❤ however, this particular song,, brings back awesome memories of me driving in a 1957 Chevy convertible car,, driving at about 120 mph on an empty highway. As we were driving, this song came on. We didn't get off. We didn't follow any of the signs. We just kept driving towards this bridge. That was a usual occurrence to always do something spontaneously when you're only 18 years old. 🎉🎉The sky was the limit. So I believe our generation, those people born from the 1950s and to '60s lived their lives to the fullest. We enjoyed the music. we just enjoyed life because we were free. We had no commitments, we had nothing to lose., therefore, life at that time was just one big party 🎉🎉 Thank you Randy for playing a song that I must have listened to at least a thousand times. Did I learn anything from it? Absolutely not!! We all got away with everything and anything? And it felt great🎉🎉 5:03 5:03

Incredible to know that he was self-conscious about his singing voice, fearing he would disappoint if unable to hit his signature high notes for this crowd-pleasing favorite while performing in concert, Sadly, that was a point of contention and main reason behind his departure from the band. Whatever happens in this World, “Take It To The Limit” will always be Randy Meisner’s song. The man was pure vocal genius. I was fortunate to see The Eagles on their “Hotel California” tour back in 1977 at the Empire Pool, Wembley, London (now the Wembley Arena). To see Randy perform just this song and live was worth the ticket price. And all of the band’s vocals/harmonies were done without in - ear monitors because that technology didn’t exist! I don’t think that we will see another like Randy. Thank you sir, for the gift of your fabulous voice in this music. Randy Meisner, May You Rest In Peace.

I watched a video the other day, that said Randy had Crohn's disease. The video talked about how Randy couldn't go out to do the encore "Take it to the Limit", one night during one of their show's. Which upset the rest of the band, because their fan's really liked to see them perform that song. I felt bad in hearing he suffered from that disease, especially being a musician and how that must have controlled a lot of what he could do and not do, because of it. He had such an amazing voice. In this video, we just watched, you can see how much the other band members loved it too, when Randy performed it. ❤️ RIP Randy.
