The following video shows my son's behavior that played a role into his Autism diagnosis. PLEASE BE AWARE: If your child shows any of these behaviors, watching them to see if they happen consistently and occur almost everyday, multiple times a day. Talk to your child's doctor if you have any concerns. Some of these behaviors are seen in neurotypical children and can mean nothing. Repetitive and compulsive behaviors should be monitored and brought to a doctor's attention.
Thank you for watching.

I am the creator of this video. My son is now 2.5 and I plan to do an update video soon! He has been in ABA therapy 5 days a week and has AMAZED us all with his intelligence and talents. He is a genius young boy with lots of love to give. He has his struggles, but my best advice to all of those who are concerned, have your child evaluated as soon as possible and start early intervention right away. Early intervention is key and my son is walking proof of that. Thank you for all the support! Leo update soon :)

Hey I was learning that tv and electronic games make it worst. They said no tv and any electronic games like that light up toy. Instead toddler puzzles, blocks to stack up, color, and anything educational without a electronic toy teaching him. I hope I helped...

Parents, don't over react. All children do most if not all of the behaviors. The ones to watch for are things like not responding to their name or having zero verbal skills. Even then, don't over react. The best advice this video gives is about mentioning your concerns to a trained professional.

@SoniaLeli

@@sararosewood1412 Hi! My son just turned 8 years old. When he was 1 I started to notice some kind of weird behaviors such as flapping his hands and covering his ears with his hands, it was almost impossible to be around other people with him because he started to cry and flap his hands constantly. By age of two he started to show repetitive behavior, he was obsessed with opening and shutting doors over and over again for several minutes. He used to spin his car's wheels obsessively and would get really frustrated when I took them away from him. He was behind other kids his age in many different areas, and his speech was poor not to say almost absent. At age of 2 he barely says three words that he didn't use to communicate instead, he used to repeat the same words and phrases over and over again. I took him to therapy for 2 years. At 3 something started to change, his repeated behaviors stopped, and his speech started to improve, I really don't know what happens but between ages 3 and 5 all of those behaviors just disappeared. He now speaks very clearly, plays with other kids normally, and behaves just like any other kid.

@@ravikiran8047 Hi! my son didn't respond to his name after two years and a half, or maybe almost three. He started to say words after two years old but never used them to communicate, instead, he would repeat words or phrases obsessively. I am 19 years old with autism. One of the early signs that I knew of was that I didn't learn to walk until I was almost 3 years old. Strangely, I learned to read before that, and reading was one of my special interests for as long as I can remember. I was always different than other kids too, having a stimming movement known as "the worm" where I would put my hands together and flick my middle finger and preferring to play by myself with my plush toys at recess. I had also required an aid until I reached university because of my tendency to be easily distracted from subjects that I wasn't especially interested in. Nowadays, I've come to accept autism as part of who I am. I used to think I was the weird kid, but now, with my huge interests in Stephen King, Lovecraft and gaming, I've lovingly embraced what makes me unique.

Take away the electronics. The screen time is what’s causing this. There’s a reason why EVERY single child on the spectrum is addicted to the screen. It’s just too much at a young age. Put your child on a “electronics free diet” my son overcame his diagnosis. Call me crazy but he’s living proof. He had wayyy too much at such a young age. I took it away for awhile. Basically allowing his brain to level out in a way. Too much screen causes an imbalance in the brain. I can show you some stuff I came across. I really think the info will benefit your child :)

I'm seeing a lot of this in my 18 month old son, and I am making an appointment with his pediatrician. I broke down in tears seeing this because I thought he was doing great in his development but started noticing some things in the past three months with his ability to communicate, thinking that it was a failure on my end to encourage his speaking despite lots of talking and explaining and reading each day. Honestly I'm scared as a first time mother and no family history of ASD. I love my son for his special personality, but this is unexpected and frightening and confusing all at the same time. Oh man. This is the closes video to my sons behaviors. He’s 19 months old and doesn’t really speak much. He responds to his name but there are times where his mom and I have to say his name many times before he looks. He is also obsessed with wheels and spinning anything that can spin. He loves cars or trucks that pass by and stares at them. No flapping of the hands though. Not sure if it is normal for kids to be overstimulated by different vocal noises from parents. For example, he can scream at the top of his lungs and he’s fine with it and laughs, but if I were to do the same he freaks out. Maybe it’s just my loud voice that scares him. He’s our first so totally not sure if other babies are like this. I can only pray.

I was diagnosed at 25 because my mom only knew autism as nonverbal and never looking at others when their name is called. I was told that I never went up to kids to play I only played alone, I showed no empathy toward others, I didn’t try to include people in my interests, everything was delayed (passed off as me just being premature) I used to line up my hot wheels which I remember doing.

@@sowbhagyalokanath1567 give it time hun. 3 years old is still VERY young. Depending where the child is on the autism spectrum, they normally aren’t talking by 3. Keep in mind that children without autism can barely stitch together sentences by age 3. Autism just delays the process by a little bit, but your child is barely even a toddler yet don’t worry! My son is 18 months old. He took his first steps at 15 months and on the dot of 18 months just started walking around. He has started to really bloom more and more as each day passes. I think the steady walking has really helped with that. I would say half the time he doesn’t respond to his name. He doesn’t really talk yet. He mainly babbles. I’ve only heard him say a few words here and there, but never consistently. He doesn’t flap his arms around, but once in awhile a really sharp noise will make him cry for a few seconds. He smiles, makes eye contact, plays well with others, and laughs a lot. Not sure if he’s just developmentally running a little behind or if he has signs of autism. My daughter is a year older and has always been way advanced with milestones, so this is throwing me way off.

This is my 18 month old grandson to a T, he does all of what you show in this video, from spinning wheels and other objects, to pacing, and he will not respond to his name at all. When he’s in the bathtub, he constantly kicks his legs and spins in the tub. I’ve suspected this for a few months now, and this absolutely confirms my suspicions. I know this is a sore subject, but I saw a drastic change in his entire personality after he received his 12 month shots, he started smiling less, he no longer responded to his name and he did that before his 12 month shots.

Some people neglect their babies then blame it on autism. Leaving your baby unattended not instructed non socialized by parents/caregiver yelling at your baby and never meeting its needs. Will have a baby acting the same way. Don't come on here saying your kid has autism when you leave it alone all day. How is it supposed to learn? Spinning tires will become it's new intrest. Flapping its arms will become it's new form of communication and expressing its self. Covering its ears to your voice will become it's new comfort to make sure it's ready to hide the same sound of your scary yelling. Not looking at you will be its new way of avoiding you because of your attitude even when your loving. Repetitive behavior will become it's new way of teaching their self. Don't be so quick to blame Autism look at your own behavior first. Are you always on your phone or computer videogames or talking to friends or working? I see people everyday neglecting their children and asking if it might have Autism. How about you wake up and take care of your baby correctly. I'm not saying that's the case with this baby. I'm just talking to the crummy parents who try to diagnose their kids because they are lousy parents.

This went on for a year.Everyone would go outside and he would stay inside playing with toys and being "good". Noowwwwww he doesn't respond to his name, want to play with others, and many more things.i blame myself %100!!! So your comment is correct!!!!!! I just see a child. He seems to be investigating how things work & that is what children do. He seems focused and annoyed by the interruptions. Everyone has different characteristics so I don't see why children are any different. Maybe that's his personality. Some people are social some aren't so I don't understand that diagnosis with autism either. Just as adults don't socialize w every other adult why are children expected to? Boys naturally love cars & wheels, maybe he will be a car enthusiast when he's older. Baby toys have all kinds of different things you can flip or spin, it's part of learning how things work. Honestly if someone kept repeating my name while I was focused on a project, I'd probably ignore them until I eventually had to scream too. No offense. 🤣🤷‍♀️ We can't expect children to do what WE want every second of the day. Let them be kids. Let them explore their environment. God bless you both! God bless the children!

My question to you is how do you tell the difference between normal play and that of Autism? Both of my daughters did a lot of the same behaviors and didn’t have Autism. It was just normal play and just the way they did things. I now have a grandson that does everyone of the behaviors your son did and it’s just the way he plays. He spins wheels cause of the song The a Wheels On The Bus. When he throws one of his hissy fits he covers his ears and shakes his hands. My daughters did the same thing. My grandson is just being a normal child in my eyes and in the doctors eyes. I’m not saying your wrong or the doctors are wrong. I’m just trying to figure out how I can tell that my grandson has Autism or to tell some warning signs that may be different than his normal play.

David Garee does the child make eye contact? Respond to their name? Are they aware of their surroundings and have feelings towards certain actions/reactions? Are they not hyper or hydro sensitive to touch, smell, taste, sound? Do they transition between activities and rooms well? If you’ve answered yes to most of these questions, they most likely are not autistic. Play in autism is like normal play, however it is exaggerated. Spinning wheels is very common for babies and toddler, an OBSESSION with spinning wheels and using objects only to spin the wheels or watch the wheel spin is concerning. Getting “stuck” in an activity for long periods of time and not being easily redirected is concerning. The exaggeration is what pin points the issue

As I read the comments, its clear that some parents keep saying "this is normal behavior". Note that ASD behavior at any instant in time might look like just random behavior similar to any child as all kids do random things. However, the difference is that ASD behavior is consistent, intense and for long durations with 100% focus. If left untreated the child at a minimum gets delayed dramatically in their development even till their teens and they will have intense meltdowns continuously. In the worst case, the behaviors never leave and they end up a disabled adult.

Hahaha bull fucking shit. I’m an autistic adult that didn’t even get diagnosed until I was a teen. It’s not an illness, we don’t need treatment, and even if you do force your kid to mask via abusive “therapy” they will always be autistic, which is in and of itself a disability. Consistent meltdowns are nine times out of ten a result of shitty neurotypical parents that don’t care to learn how to teach their kid to self soothe in a non destructive way.

@@cashewbutter943 You are right about parents that dont care to learn how to deal with kids. I agree with that. However, to deprive autistic kids from getting therapy just increases the probability of them having no coping skills and not understanding the world around them as much as if they did have therapy. I emphasize kids as the Neuroplasticity of a child is much more than an adult so the right therapy (not forced and not discrete ABA) can be immensely helpful if applied early on. At least the child has an opportunity to learn about the world around them.

Me personally would not take my kid tot the doctors untill she was older may 5 or 6 if things didn't change . She never liked loud things still till this day like fireworks . When she was young a baby and toddler she hated birthday singing. And she spun around and she ignored me with some things because I was talking to her while she was doing her thing lol . But she'd fine very smart and wants to be a doctor she didn't talk good untill she was 5 . She reads talks does everything. I believe there is kids out here with special needs and that's fine thats how God made them. But I believe that there is kids getting diagnosed way to early and getting put on medicine so early can damaged them more even if they really arnt the medication can make them . Thoughts aswell

@sassialane 3 жыл бұрын
These comments shouldn’t be made if you don’t have experience with asd kids. Taking your kids at 5-6 to get evaluated a lot of times is too late. Catching things early is the key. There’s a definite difference between a kid ignoring their parents, and I kid who straight up will not acknowledge/recognize their name or being called. Also this isn’t a baby he’s a toddler and based on this video I can immediately see autistic characteristics. When you see it all day you recognize it. So many things like the arm flapping, sensory issues, selective hearing and speaking etc. That attribute to autism. Patterns in behavior or not changing routine, and difficulty with transitions or changes is another. Hand flapping is something I see in all aged asd kids it’s not just a toddler thing. Take as an example - a baby around 9 months old can’t verbally speak, but they can still communicate using emotion, touch, sound etc. They even begin the foundations of conversation when you do/say something and they respond with a sound or a movement. They’re communicating. Asd kids regardless of vocabulary have difficulty with that. You can say this boy isn’t old enough to speak, but he is old enough to communicate and a possible autism diagnosis could explain why he isn’t.

@Vital signs better in some ways but still a lot of early warning signs. He's 2 and a half and knows a LOT of words but doesn't use them to communicate unless he's parroting or asked to name something usually. He doesn't look people in the eyes and looks at objects when he hands them to you waiting for them to do something instead of looking at you. He walks on tippy toes often and flaps his hands. He still rarely points except when. We have really trained him to do so. He's in speech therapy but they don't want to diagnose until 3. Kinda sucks because there is a lot of help we get access to after official diagnosis. There are a million signs really but I'm sure they have their reason for wanting to wait. My favorite example is he had us bring him to the fridge by guiding us by the hand and had us pick him up to see I side. He started grabbing the ingredients for making a smoothie for him (seriously we were both shocked) so advanced in a way knowing how to do it himself BUT normally a toddler would have just asked for a smoothie lol

Getting stuck on repetitive behavior is part of discovering- not responding to ones name can be just a form of not really wanting to be distracted from why has their attention. Spinning things?? That’s part of learning how things work!!! This is suuuuch a bad idea to put something like this out here. I got the herbs from Dr Oyalo and use the remedy on my son as he instructed. As I speak my child is speaking well and his social skill has improved. It a good thing to tell this and his herbs is the best for autism kids than any therapy. Thanks

Suggestion to all parents pls don't let your kids to be too much behind screens that will destroy them, some behaviour exactly cause of that, play with them, talk, give them all your love and time, don't give them phones just to calm them or to grab little time for yourself, they need you

Your child should be 3 years old by now, how is he coping right now? Has he been professionally identified being on the spectrum yet? I hope at the right time, he could learn that Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla is also autistic and see if this inspires him.
