Early Morning Rain Walk in a Cotswold Village & Countryside | First Day of Spring 2023

So, today we are out and about walking on the first day of Spring 2023 in the village of Evenlode on a drizzly morning. Evenlode is a civil parish located within the Cotswold district of eastern Gloucestershire. Evenlode is just a few miles away from historic Moreton-in-Marsh. The village has an approximate population of 150. The parish church St Edward's is of a late Norman era construction and is a grade II listed building dating back to the 12th century which was then restored in 1879. The River Evenlode makes up the parish's western boundary. The village does not appear to have a local public house or shops.
There are no hidden OAAW logos within this video.
It pains me to write this but this is the final video whereby vehicle number / registration (license) plates will be blurred out, simply because of the sheer amount of time it takes it in post production to do this, which then in turn limits the amount of videos I can upload over any given amount of time. So you may notice a gradual increase in uploads on this channel within the next 2 - 3 weeks.

Hang about, while I get rid of these virtual wellies and stash the umbrella somewhere to dry - there, that’s better. A great walk in the rain. Are we crazy or what! When I was younger in pre-historic times, my late wife and I liked to walk our wire-fox terrier in the rain. She loved it. The dog that is. There’s something about coming home to a warm fireplace, a mug of cocoa, and a digestive biscuit to make you feel alive. Alas, I can’t do that in reality, but through your kindness and talents, I can venture forth in complete safety and leave behind no muddy footprints! Thanks for this. John, Ontario, Canada

Hi. Me too :). You will pleased to know that the audio is 100 % original, nothing has been dubbed over. As I film, I record the audio to a separate device via binaural microphones, hence why the spacious sound (can be heard if listening through headphones). The only thing I do occasionally in terms of audio editing is remove an unavoidable burp 😊 as I have usually just eaten breakfast before a walk. Thanks for your support.

Evenlode is a charming village, very pleasant. Very pretty. Lots of flowers for spring. A nice walk in the meadows, with an umbrella, but the countryside is beautiful in this area. It's not easy to step over the barriers with an umbrella, even with the ingenious little benches. Thank you for this beautiful walk 😀😀😀😀😀

Just when I be wondering why they place a "cattle" fence across public paths (with a polite step bench or two) whoosh-clank an umbrella drops from the trees. I had to pause (and replay several times) our tred for a few moments being doubled over with laughter. Must've been a naughty squirrel - mine here play dirty launching spikey pinecones, green unopened ones, that weight a ton. Such polite wildlife in Britain. Excuse me? What did you gentlemanly hide there in the woods, a streaking nymph? Those barren trees looked like soldiers at attention. Fine lot. Really, all the trees therein that spot and hemming the little field are lovely, even disrobed. Those are very strange fields we covered, like sea ripples frozen in time. Well! Did you notice the spooky front door across from the public lawn? 2 round window eyes, knocker nose, mail-slit mouth, overhang cap visor. I noticed a few weathervanes this time. I've a roof cap rooster vane that twas me mum's mum's, also have all her kitchen cocks strutting around where me bangs pots-n-pans too. Aha! I saw both squirrels what let you borrow their 'brella a'crossn the road...did you ever return it to them? Lovely lovely walk today Sir🕶️, and it NEVER fails I find more unusual construction architecture per new video, liken hunting Easter eggs. Now all day as I putter through me chores, I'll be a smiling and humming. Thanks to you.😁

Good day, Jaclyn. How are you today? Yes, must of been a naughty squirrel 😜. This was quite a walk and definitely a little bit precarious in places. sounds like you very much enjoyed it tho :). "Streaking Nymph"? no such luck...If I recall correctly, I had to bring the brolly down as there were a few low branches. The wavy field caught my attention too ( I love your description of it, in fact I love your description of the entire video - as always :))! I think I know which door you mean 😉. It us nice to have some family belongings passed down through the generations. Nope, never returned it...as yet...:). Generally speaking the first few larger homes in the first half of the video, how new are most of those homes? I’m curious to know round about what year they were built? They look new but I’m not familiar with the architecture. It’s all so beautiful!
