I have a Earthquake DBXi 12D in a ported box powered by a Dayton audio HPSA1000R in my house. It rips.

So, how is it compared to SVS? How do they sound? Are they good for music as well as movies? Would you chose the svs sb3000 over this one or do they not compare?
@HomeTheaterHobbyist Жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried the 3000 series from SVS so I can’t say, sorry.

I will be curious to see how you review the subwoofer. I am sure it is a nice unit, but 18Hz isn’t very low For $1300. my SB1NSD can hit 17hz and it only cost $400 when on sale.
@HomeTheaterHobbyist3 жыл бұрын
It's going for $765 as I type this on Amazon. It also has DSP built in so that's going to increase the cost. But I will talk about value in the full review. Thanks for commenting.

You sure the SN1 frequency floor wasn’t 23Hz? And comparing a sale price of a sub not manufactured anymore to a current sub’s reg price isn’t apples to apples, is it?
@TheFrugalAudiophile3 жыл бұрын
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Yah, that sounds competitive for a sub that hits 18Hz with DSP.
@TheFrugalAudiophile3 жыл бұрын
@@TheBlecht Well, I have done the measurements and I could 17Hz in my room.

All the reviews on this subwoofer only talk about its cinema performance... is it a good sub for Music as well? I'd imagine the 10" would be better for music so you get the quicker response for Music Btw... great content👍

It's a outdated audio myth that smaller woofers are faster. The 12inch woofer earthquake MiniMe will be as fast responsive as the 10inch woofer MiniMe 👍🏻
@rookiestereophilemikej55082 жыл бұрын
@@C--Ayes all speakers are equally fast but there is a difference in how low frequency sound is reproduced which many people like to use terms like "speed" and "fast" to describe. A woofer's ability to response very quickly to the power input from an amp is one of those. Some woofer struggle with getting going - but those drivers are for the most part any decent driver responds quickly to input voltage stimulus. timeframe, however, there are often considerable differences in how long it takes a woofer to stop producing acoustic energy after the amp stops sending voltage to it. Some woofer systems are poorly controlled and will continue to resonate long after the signal stops. So I guess I should have asked... is the subwoofer as dynamic and detailed?

At ~$1200 there is some stiff competition against this thing. IMO its overpriced for what you get.
