We made it out to MX1 in this last episode…and very thankful for that! One of the days was really long and we covered some of the trail at night to make up some time. It was beautiful driving thru the desert in the early evening and a little sketchy in some parts after dark. We thought the section of road between our last camp and MX1 was going to be smooth sailing…but of course it wasn’t. Ruth does a short summary at the end of the video while I’m airing up the tires and we put some highlight clips in to watch while she is talking in a wind storm. Sorry about the annoying windy audio…a wireless mic with a wind shield is on our list before our trip north to Alaska in June. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the comment! We may explore copper canyon on our panam trip starting March. We will start posting on YT again soon but we post most everything on IG and FB.

Cool , yes i too had a side wall puncture when down there from the same , some kind of wood ? mine was more in the lug part of the tire , so a plug held it . ~peace~

Yes…the flexing sidewall is difficult plug. I really think it would have held much better without the lube. Going forward I will try to get the plug in without the lube first.

Wow at timepoint 6:00 that could have been an issue if the whole rig slid to the left. You can use multiple mushroom tire patched for the side wall, they can be forced in and pulled flat on the inside of the tire. Yep still not going on a trip with you crazy people but its awesome to watch :)

Yes…good idea about the mushroom patches. We ordered some to put in our kit after seeing how they install them on one our tractor tires. The sidewalls of our tires flex so little at higher pressures the patch would probably work fairly well…certainly better than the beef jerky plugs.

Really enjoyed your Baja videos. I'm curious what your travel days have been like and if you have had any issues with engine temps in combination with outside temps and low speeds?

Glad you enjoyed the videos! We have not had any issues with engine temps on hot days at low speeds. We run a mishimoto radiator that seems to keep the engine cool. We do see some higher temps on the transmission side but all manageable.
