You may need to "burp" your clabbering milk once or twice a day as the fermentation matures! I like to put the cap on loosely so it burps all by itself. :)

I do have the pickle pipes do you suggest I use that. Our climate here in Texas is so different from yours. If not I will try the loose lid

I have made clabber cheese before. The cheese is made into balls and rolled into herbs and put under olive oil.

Heather I absolutely love your video. I made cottage cheese in my HOME. ECONOMIC CLASS IN 1963. MY CURDS WERE LIKE RUBBER LOL 🐸 I loved it and ate it. Told my teacher mine would last all day with the chew factor. We always had fun in that class. They need this class back in school. Thank you DEAR😎😎💞💓💞

I watched a video yesterday about making cheese curds and some people like a rubbery texture it seems? Maybe IDK what "sqeaky" cheese curds are but it doesn't sound appealing to me lol! I agree home ec really needs to come back!!

No problem! There are ways that don't ferment the milk first, but this way has such a complex flavor and is SO good for you! ❤🐐

"Fermented milk" is my favorite Ferment so far I think. Clabber with honey is so good! Very good to know it can be made into cottage cheese as well.

I use clabber to put in place of sour cream in beef (venison) stroganoff!!

I use raw cream that has gone a little sour in making chocolate ganache. The slight tartness adds a nice dimension to the ganache.

You can do it with rennet or vinegar, but with raw milk you only need the pre ingredient!

My mom used to make a bread with her old milk. She would let go bad in the fridge I mean and then we would make this bread that it was so good. She would call it crazy bread, but as soon as it came out of the oven, we would put butter on it and we would just eat it up. It was really good. I’m gonna probably have to make some for us. Soon

Thanks for this recipe and especially the mini tour of your homestead while doing your milking chores. I do not have access to raw milk but do make yogurt using store bought milk. I will definitely try this using your recipe.

This looks delicious and fairly easy. It’s nice hear that “it’s not bad (spoiled)” you can do this with it. I think so many throw out so much because we have gotten away from real food and become artificial processed foodies. Loved the video can’t wait to check out more on your channel

I am so happy to have found this! I can't have bovine dairy and miss cottage cheese and yogurt. It's so hard to find goat or sheep dairy videos that do something other than soap.

My Grandmother had a reputation for making "the Best" cottage cheese... I can attest to her Black Berry jelly.. unfortunately she passed 60 years ago. This reminded me of her.

i use fermented rice water to make mine ... i absolutely love this cheese since i have found out how to make it .. i even use the whey in my garden, or i drink it mixed with water on ice .. it is soo soo good

Now I need a cow! I love cottage cheese. We have goats but I either need to start over with bottle-fed goats cause mine are too wild. It's been about 8 mos. and one is starting to "tolerate" me and make eye contact, but trimming hooves is a nightmare. I cant imagine breeding and milking with these two. The whither was bottle-fed and seeks me out for some loving. There is such a difference.

Clabbered milk sounds wonderful. Love cottage cheese. I do have a farmer that is willing to give (because he cannot sell raw milk) to me to try this as long as I share some cheese.
