I’m about to do my b7 rs4 saloon as the aluminium trims have gone milky and there’s no way of cleaning it off. The trims are a huge job to remove and replace so I figured I will wrap them. Colour wise I’m doing it in Matt silver to keep the car standard looking as mirrors, radiator grill and wheels are all Matt silver. Thanks for posting such a helpful guide. Hopefully mine will look as neat as the job you’ve done on the Mercedes. Cheers

nice work. on a charcoal gray 2018 yukon denali, im thinking of getting a slightly lighter shade of gray than the body color to delete all the chrome... but will it be hard to match that lighter gray color for the large chrome grille and emblems/badges? what would your shop use for the denali grille?plastidip paint?or can a heavily grated grille be wrapped too?

I did a chrome delete on my grill trim, and on all my window trims. Looks professionally done too! Definitely didn’t take me a longer than a hour and a half though. Could’ve been faster but it’s my first time doing it. I personally think it’s not worth paying over $100 or $200 or even way way way more! to get it done at a vinyl/Tint shop. DIY! People! Save you money and you learned something new.

As a beginner, I found that it's worth it to cut the film following the general curve of the trim to eliminate relief cuts and alleviate the tension from stretching a straight piece.

Hi Christian, can you give me some advice on how to wrap a front bumper of a Pontiac Fiero GT 87. Do you have wrapping videos in old cars? Like Camaro's, Firebird's, Trans Am's etc. I am a big fan from Baja California, México.

Love watching your channel and it gave me the confidence to do the trim delete myself! However, after doing the trim delete in gloss black Avery film I find that the areas that tuck under the trim or where you would stretch it at the ends to get a clean finish eventually peel back a little and I'm finding myself going over tucking it under before i go for a drive. I prep'd the surface and cleaned it with prepsol and starting to think that because I applied it when it was only 10 deg. Celsius the adhesive has not taken to the aluminium trim....or maybe it the design of the trim? For reference it's an Audi A6 avant.

Can you show a video of a trim delete on a harder car? My 17 fusion has a very tight rubber lip right up against the chrome and a wide curved piece that i'm kinda lost on.

Still kinda cool in New England, will probably try it in my home garage/driveway but wanted to know what u consider the lowest temperature to wrap in. Seems like 70s but not sure if you ever wrapped in cooler temps.

Is that referred as a seal between the mirror and the window ? I had took off my whole seal just to tuck better but I can get the seal that goes in between my window and mirror to go back down the rail

How well does this wrap hold up to hot weather? We live in a desert like climate and I'm worried that it will peel. And if it starts to peel can it be removed without damaging the chrome if it has been exposed to 100°+ heat?

Trim seems so easy but I found out it is realllly tricky. I redid mine 3 times cuz your right any little movement with blade you have chrome showing. Even a tiny sliver of chrome stands out like BOOM! Definitely a pro knocking these out first go round and look flawless like usual.

If that's what you use i would use it no problem. Do you use the vvivid? Also side question, what do you think of using matte black. I have a black car i wanna black out.

It seems from the video that you do not leave much to be tacked in. I suspect in a hot country this can be an issue, as the film will shrink after some time and the customer wont be happy. On the other hand, some cars have really tight rubber seals, which are impossible to tack the film under. Do you give the warranty for something like this? and how do you explain this to the customer?

Hey Christian. Huge fan. I have a question. Does most gloss wrap have an orange peel effect? I bought black rose from 3m and in my opinion, it looks like garbage. I tried this and it keeps wanting to pull back on the ends. It's a 2008 Audi Rs6 and the ends don't have much surface area. It's like the vinyl isnt quite as sticky as it needs to be. Admittedly it's cheap ebay vinyl as I just wanted to give it a go. Tried post heating too but it still seems to lift after a day or so on the ends. Is there a particular vinyl that has a very strong adhesive?
