Easily Create Photorealistic Grass in Blender 2.93.5 (Quixel Bridge)

Hey everyone and welcome back to Just the Basics!
In this video, we're going to take a look at how to create a realistic grass scene inside of Blender 2.93.5. For this tutorial, we'll be making use of a third part program, Quixel Bridge. It's completely free to download and you can get it at the link below. This tutorial is completely free to follow and will cover hair particle systems as well as using the A.N.T. Landscape addon. This video is designed for beginner Blender users so don't hesitate to ask a question in the comments below.

Hey thx for the tutorial, I was wondering what light setup you have for your scene (HDR, world shading) and also my grass has a lot of black on it so it's not very beatiful idk why

Excellent tutorial, pacing was perfect, explanation was clear. But I wonder why texture for particle settings was not used. The grass looks a bit too uniformed without the texture influence.

Thank you so much! I'm glad it was easy to follow. That's a great suggestion too! The honest answer was I didn't even think of it. I'll have a play around with settings and see what results I can get and might update this in future tutorials. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it :)

Great tutorial. I can't seem to get my grass to show up in my final render, though. It's there in the viewport. Have you come across this? I'm searching for a fix, but haven't come across one, yet.

hi, i was doing the forest tutorial and im just commenting here in case u doesnt see comment on the tree video. i have (i think) small problem. When i hit render, its starting to synchronize tree 001, tree002, etc and when it finished it just stops, nothing happends (stops rendering for some reason and when i changed format to ffmpeg i got a "animation" which was just darkness. Like u know empty screen). I just have blank screen and it doesnt render the frames. And it does this only when i render in cycles, in eevee every think works fine (but looks like shit ofcs). in the folder when i told blender to send all the frames i just have 35kb PDF's which i cant open. Can u plsss help me?

The assets are Not CC0! Quixel explicitly tells: "The trial provides non-commercial access only. " This is incompatible with CC0. It's always better to make your own grass than to fall for such frivolous statements!

Cant even export the texture to blender because it just says error for no reason I knew there would be some random issue that I have that nobody else does.

@@TrueMetaPrince if it shows a number like 28888 (or something like that, you have to go in the setting and match the number there. I don’t remember what it’s called but if you want I can find you the video I watched that helped me

I have the same problem. I think blender 3.0 is not working properly with Bridge yet.

@@b3drose I had the same situation. The problem appears because in Blender 3.0 Quixel Bridge sets MSPlugin in folder "..\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.0\scripts\addons". You should manually move MSPlugin in "..\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.0\scripts\startup" folder. If "startup" folder isn't exists you must create it.
