The amount of people complaining about the length of this storyline shocks me. This is what it's like in real life! It can go on for years. People need to realise that it's easy to leave in theory but it's much harder when you're actually in this situation. Be more sensitive instead of complaining about how long it's taking. Think about the people in abusive relationships.

@@THNexusdude7 bish have u been in an abusive relationship before? do you now what it feels like to be isolated from your family, be mentally and physically abused and played with? i dont know where or who raised and brought you up, but i just feel bad for you, what does it take to think like that? imagine how it feels to have no one, to have depression and anxiety and to feel like you arent good enough and to feel suicidal, and no one knows what your going through, think about what you say first because its people like you who write things like that, and then send them without thinking about the outcome it can have on a person. who knows, someone in an abusive situation could have watched this video, to feel less alone, gone and read your comment and probaly felt so terrible and bad and thinking that there just 'overreacting' and thinking its normal, so karen, i hope ur happy.

bluebell funny because I was in one for 8 months and had therapy for it. Now as a grown adult, its time to man up and become a better judge of character and now I’m with the LOML. Stop letting toxic ex’s define you by mentioning them every chance you get.

I may not be perfect, but that could never be me (at least I very well hope not!) Your partner should be able to have their own life and friends, and if my (hypothetical) partner kept putting off things for me, I'd feel bad and strongly encourage them to at least spend a bit of time and be free whole there(!) It's pretty important to have that time with other people for multiple reasons too, not least because it'll make the time that you do spend with your partner much more interesting and better, and when one is being annoying you have that other side to speak to, allowing you to cool off and evaluate both your and their actions.

In real life Gray (Toby) made very sure Jessica ( Chantelle) was extremely safe during these scenes lots of crash mats and kept cutting after every scene to make sure she was OK. He's also a women aid ambassador and he said he's been in lots of tears after this abuse storyline. The reason we cry at this is because it happens in real life. So while we despise and want Gray we want caught and punished the actors Jessica and Toby have done fantastically well during this storyline ❤❤❤❤

They will check hospital records the nurse whole dealt with her cut hand will mention bruises. Then they will get an order for the therapist records. Also the will see how Chantelle broke her arm is not consistent with a trip on bottom of stairs. Also I reckon forensics will determine it was a push rather than a slip because of the distance travelled. “Grey Atkins we are arresting you for the murder of Chantelle Atkins” Whole square “👀👀👀👀🤭🤭🤭😮😮😮” Kheerat 😥 sigh of relief, grief and happiness

@Richard Jason timothy Damien they can’t, domestic abusers majority of the time hold narcissistic traits and mentality, even if you were to try change the person, they won’t be changing the actual type of person they are. The reason they can’t change is because their narcissism won’t allow them to, majority of the time they are so deluded they believe they are right in what they are doing and it’s justified, due to their high sense of entitlement. Look at when gray kills Tina and afterwards he says “I loved her, but she didn’t listen...”. They have a very fucked up sense of morality and that’s why they can’t change, it isn’t anything to do with anger issues, etc, he abuses because in his head he believes he has the right to do so if his high standards are never met(which will never be met).

@Richard Jason timothy Damien and more often, because of the type of person they are, when in therapy, they just manipulate the therapist whilst not telling the full story because in their heads their version is the truth and the only truth. Abusers are more conscious of what they are doing than it seems, Think about it like this as well, more often in domestic abuse it’s not just physical abuse, but more often emotional as well as physical. Remember where he rapes her when wanting to try for another child(sexual violence), and the time he watched her hold her breathe under water, man the guy even threatened to kill his own kids in their sleep due to Chantelle trying to leave. People like this just can’t change its inside of them, the rates of change with abusers are very very low.

The consistent and prolonged amount of abuse that Chantelle has to endure is perfectly in conjunction with what happens in real life. Both men and victim can be victims. But the victim can’t perceive that it could possibly be abuse due to the sheer amount of devotion they have to their lover in the moments they are nice to them. This is gaslighting and manipulative behaviour. Anyone fearing they could be on the receiving end of this should reach out to helplines or report.

This is better than the one with little Mo because of the secrecy around Gray and Chan. Everyone knew Trevor was a complete head case. But Chan caving saying it was her fault is a Smart but sad thing to do and admitting the truth to Gray about people being at the house. With Trevor... He was a pure psycho. But Gray is more of a sociopath that has some deeeeeep psychological problems! I don't even think HE understands it all. Cos he can be legit nice and then turn with a push of a button that gets pushed the wrong way... Both of them are SUCH AMAZING ACTORS though.

@@blahblahblah7716 Sorry always hey the two mixed up... Though I think Gray is a bit of both tbh. He's most definitely a narcissistic sociopsyhopath IMO for he, like many sociopathic people, will feel emotion... But only for themselves. They'll feel they're emotions are bigger and more important than anybody elses. I agree he is more psychopathic because he knows how to charm his way into and out of situations. He's incredibly calculating and does things without remorse... But it's a common theory that sociopathic people can't feel emotion... But they can. Not NEARLY as MUCH as others, but they are able to emote. Sociopath or "APD" are more times than not, trauma induced. Victims that keep holding the victim card when losing their ability to rationalise or when they "see red". Its usually because of trauma from their past/childhood. Psychopaths are argued to be born that way whether it be because of damage to the pre-frontal cortex which help us rationalise, feel empathy, fear, remorse and pain... Or due to significant brain damage due to head injuries in life. A sociopath is generally nurtured into being due to significant trauma during childhood which stifles the brain's capacity to grow up, adhere to the rights and wrongs etc. Not every trauma survivor will have urges to hurt others (usually it's directed at oneself) and whilst they may suffer with other disorders like BPD, DID, Chronic/Manic/Situational depression & anxiety, low self esteem, PTSD (which can bring on flashbacks/night terrors etc), bipolar, SAD etc... Most of these trauma induced disorders come along later in life. Most of our brains will be able to function with the knowledge, and have the capacity to understand the situations placed upon them earlier on in life (whilst the brain was still growing & absorbing & learning) as being wrong/bad and we are able to learn from what was done to us and not have the urge to do unto others as was done to us. We will learn to break the cycle so that we DON'T EVER do anything to hurt others because we'll understand how wrong it is. True sociopaths? Will hold onto that "victim" mentality and remain in that space of "I went through, had to deal with, suffered from/with this and you didn't", they'll be able to form relationships and there will be emotional attachments but they will be more about them than the person they claim to love. They will have a honeymoon period of everything being wonderful and almost over the top romance and taste of a brilliant life. But then the resentment surfaces etc like in the case with Gray.

Thank you to whoever put this together. I’ve seen all the scenes before bar one (red dress in the kitchen), yet this was hard to watch. This should be a lesson to all people in domestic abuse situations as I once was. The situation NEVER gets better, nor does it remain the same; it simply escalates. The more someone tolerates the behaviour, abusers see it as a green light to continue (you’ll put up with it) and get worse as you’ll put up with it no matter how bad. This build up of this story is great. The public charade of the ‘perfect’ couple; Gray’s charisma in public; Gray’s charisma when love bombing and bread-crumbing (putting the stained certificate in a frame); the blow ups; the loss of his sense of power and control leading to his sense of thinking the only way to regain it is to beat up his wife; the possibly well-intentioned sorrys which will always go around in circles unless professional help is sought (it rarely is); the CONSTANT gaslighting; Chantelle having been gaslit so much that she sought to blame herself for him breaking her arm; her pain and seeming humiliation when he lifted her top and exposed her badly bruised belly. If anyone’s watched this week’s episodes (week commencing 7/9/2020), they will notice how her spirit seemed to be broken when returning on the school run after he tried to almost drown her in the bath. Just awful. This is SO TRUE of abusers. They systematically break down their victims into submission, compliance and an inability to trust their own judgment. More people need to be jailed for it and for MUCH longer!

I feel sorry for Chantelle, no one deserves to go through domestic violence but I just wish she went about things differently. She should have never stopped his counselling session. I feel like he was about to have a breakthrough and she stopped that, he needed to let it all out, to cry, to recognise that what he was doing was wrong, regardless of a traumatic childhood. She was too lenient and forgiving. I know it’s hard when you love someone but she should have asked for help. Instead of passively reinforcing his concept of verbal and physical abuse equating to love.
