Wow, Jessica, that ivy decoration is out of this world!! I can see why it took you a long time to make -- it's basically a sculpture. Both cakes are lovely, but those fondant flowers and leaves are so impressive!!

I feel Jessica’s difficulties with time blindness, speed and detail-oriented efforts even while trying to be simple😅 It is a STRUGGLE to get things done but when they are it is incredibly satisfying!

I have the time blindness too! It's very inconvenient all of the time. But! I feel like a time witch whenever I've lived an entire lifetime in my head and done a bunch of stuff and I look at the clock and it's only been 15 minutes. That part is cool. :)

I’m American and I have never heard of 100s and 1,000s. That’s such a cute name for sprinkles, I think those specific ones are called nonpareils here!

Hundreds & Thousands used to be a mixture of little sugar balls and sugar strands. Now lots of places still call them that, but the pot only has balls OR strands in it. This makes me sad.

@@veevee306 The english pronunciation is nahn-puh-REL, at least according to the dictionary. I've only heard that pronunciation in the US, and that's how I've always said it as well.

Creativity is ALL individual! LOVE them both. Your "baking bad" videos are SO entertaining. I once baked a cake, frosted it, and when I opened the cabinet to find the sprinkles, a can of tuna fell down, impaled itself in the cake! A HUGE hole was left, and I actually thought about just leaving it there--instead, I just filled the huge hole with frosting!! 👍😊💖

Ahhh, my Mum used to set up scavenger hunts, too! My brother and I would have to solve each riddle to find the next, and on the back of each clue there would be a letter. Once we'd found all the clues, we would then have to arrange the letters on the backs to spell out the final hiding place, and let me tell you, our Mum went wild with it as we got older. Until I was about 7, the hunt was strictly limited to our house, but my favourite hunt (I think I was 9?) took us all the way to the local pond, where we had to reel in a rubber duck for the next clue. That was the first and only time I've ever used a real fishing rod 😂 I really wasn't expecting to be so excited about Easter again lol

I adore the little chicks on Claudias cake and am jealous of the skill Jessica has with fondant...both are just delightful. We don't decorate for most holidays, my one concession is hanging something on the front door - this year for Easter it's a pastel tinsel egg.

When I was a Swedish kid in the 90's, we would make "påskbrev". You colour in a page, fold it into a triangular envelope, fill it with candy and give them to your friends, usually by throwing it at them. Dressing up while giving them out was also highly encouraged. I have no idea if kids still do this nowadays, but it was a nice tradition.

Jessica did a beautiful job with the fondant items that she did. Very well executed. I loved Claudia's cake, too. However, I think it looked the best right after she added the flake and eggs. I think it got a little busy after that, but I think it is very colorful and fun with the chicks.

Claudia talking about how she would never colour in the lines but would get like 5 drawings done but Jessica would do it perfectly and only do one. It reminds me so much of myself. I am exactly how Claudia described Jessica. In school we would always just get given these fun like drawing things, it didn’t really matter, the teacher just gave us it as something fun to do. Everyone else would just have fun and get it down in class but when everyone else had finished I would always be like only half way done because I was being such a perfectionist. I would always have to bring it home and finish it there since we would run out of time in class so I would spend hours finishing it at home. My parents would always get annoyed at me for it because I would always be stressed about it and it never mattered lol.

❤️ My daughter is like that too. (She did work with a therapist in her late teens to help ease the feeling of stress when things weren’t perfect.) But she ended up working in a lab where being exact and precise is necessary.

I'm probably a lot more like Claudia with it comes to decorating. I don't take my time i just do it I'm the same with drawing. I hyper focus and get it done in 3 hrs flat rather than trying to perfect every level (sketch, lineart, coloring, shading)

Those were some Ashens worthy chicks! Loved both of these cakes. Two very different approaches but both turned out fun and lovely. Claudia is correct. Jesus was an overlay onto the pagan festival of Ostara, which celebrates rebirth and growth. (Hence the chicks and rabbits since they are both prolific breeders.)

We had a major hailstorm earlier this week. Because we only have one tiny tree in the backyard we had minimal damage to the plants but the gutters are now colanders and we have to wait for an inspection for the roofing. I hope you had minimal damage from your hailstorm as well.

Omg you both are so much like my fiancé and I. Claudia is productive but less focused on perfectionism and I’m like Jessie where I wind up taking my time to perfect something simple. Also the anger issues LOL -Aly gets frustrated and I just get sad about things. I loved the video 💕

Easter is definitely pagan! Where I'm from, Easter witches and spells are even a thing, and that's not a practice only actual pagans do, it's everyone! Kind of like Halloween - Little kids dressed as little red-cheeked scarf-headed witches ring your doorbell on palm sunday to wish you good luck for the year with their little brightly decorated willow switches, and you give them chocolates as a thank you. You typically get to keep the switch you got the good-luck-spell told to you with! They're very cute, have colorful paper bows and colored feathers on them :D Basically, every type of big Christian holiday is really an older pagan feast with a new name slapped on top xD

4:15 ☠️ we said that at the same time! 😂😂😂 👁👁 One of my older sisters’ first born had a cow protein allergy. It went away when he was a little over a year old. But his was so bad she had to stop breastfeeding and switch to formula because she was starving herself trying to feed him. You wouldn’t believe the number of things that have _SOMETHING_ that comes from a cow. She started off trying to remove dairy and not eat beef, but he was still getting sick so she went back to the doctor and he printed off her a long list of common ingredient names to avoid on packaging. When she started finding out how hard it was just to feed herself so she could feed him, she went back to the doc. He put Wyatt on special formula since they couldn’t both starve trying to figure out how to eat! lol 🤷🏻♀️

not super experienced in food production but like, we make a plant based butter and it has a similar warning because: even if we do our best to swab everything for allergens and stuff: people suck and people make mistakes and it's produced in the same place on the same equipment as our regular butter...
