Awesome! I suggest Chris from " In The Woodyard" as your first test dummy, I mean, test subject. I believe this wedge would take his resplit percentage to zero. This wedge is a gamechanger. The top piece seems to really stop the kick up and back of the top cut.

This wedge is outstanding! Talk about production increase!!! I am always amazed at the ingenuity of your team. The geometry of the wedge layout seems to really be effective. And this is with "Blunt" knives. Sharpening the knives would really decrease the chafe (Splinters).

The speed is really impressive. Have you considered using your stone maker to press wood chip heat blocks for a zero waste process? It's always a question of return of investment, that being said, the shear volume of scrap should provide a good source of material to chip. Anything coming off a cleaner shouldn't need a huge chipper to process. I see those heating blocks selling for more than the cost of a landscaping block. Your display at Paul Bunyan was first class.

I'd have killed for a setup like this about twenty years ago. So much jand splitting oak, walnut, black cherry, sweet gum, hickory, and pecan wood. Of all those it was the sweetgum that would absolutely wear you out. Even straight sections has these horrible twisted fibers that would just grab the maul and not let it go. Finally resorted to getting an electric chainsaw just to cut the sweetgum into rough wedges. But yeah, a processor like this would have made the summer cutting and splitting much more bearable.

I know with dump trailers I have owned that it takes awhile for powder coat to smooth up and for them to dump well when new. Do you see a change in how wedges operate between the bare prototypes and once they have been powder coated? Does the paint hender the performance some until they shine up?
