I'm very much looking forward to getting my machine. The wait seems very worth it cause this is built like a tank. This will take my small firewood business to new levels!! I'm very excited!! For the wood product I want to make, I'd need a custom sized box wedge. I'd be looking at a 2.75-3in split size. The 2.5in pizza wedge is just a little bit too small. Will have to see how well a test batch of small split wood for backyard smoker customers sells first before I go looking harder into a different splitter. Preferably a companion splitter so can leave one machine setup for normal firewood and another for bundle/bbq firewood.

Andrew, I think you've just made a new customer! We have 4 units right now, the smallest being a 34 ton rig- how do your rigs work with eucalyptus wood? That is our main concern, as it is so very tough to split. So far, the eucalyptus has bent every machine we've bought, (quite literally) but the wood is a great seller here in northern Arizona. At the moment, I'm conflicted between the rig you displayed here and the Axis... BOTH are equally impressive. What is the expected delivery time from the time we order? Thanks for all the videos, It's great seeing the owner of a company out doing the demonstrations and operation- it shows you have the faith in your equipment, and you're not afraid to get out there and USE your product. DB FYI, I was introduced to your brand through Joe's firewood channel on KZfaq.

@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters I have in mind an alternative knife pattern for the 6-way wedge. It would be the one center vertical knife wiith two parallel horizontal knives. Then it would cut two ways under the first horizontal knife. It would cut four ways if the block were below the top horizontal knife. It would cut six ways using the full wedge. All of the knives would meet at right angles. It would eliminate the sharp angles of your 6-way. It would give the operator better split choices for better splits. I have no experience; I was only looking at some videos. You might say to just put in a 4-way or 2-way if you want a 4-way or 2-way split, but that is not as convenient as pushing on the wedge lift lever. It would be a three-in-one type of deal, eliminating the need for so many wedges in the hands of the customer. It may increase the number you offer for sale or replace your current 6-way. The maximum force required to push the block through may be reduced. The wood will not have the sharp-angled cuts on it. I don't know if sharp-angled wood is good or not. If all of the cutting-edges contact the block at the same time, that would not be good. I like the 7-way box wedge for the larger rounds (14 inches diameter). Would you build a 6-way wedge for me as specified above if I bought one of your larger splitters? I wouldn't care if you wore the paint off of it by testing it. For the dimensions on the knives, I suppose design it for an eleven inch round, and the height could be adjusted for rounds of other sizes. I suspect the design I described here would work better on oversized rounds than the 6-way you now sell.

Great to hear from you Dennis. We can do the box wedge but it won't have a pull back arm.

Kind of a nit-picky question, but how many inches tall will the splits be on the 7-way with the box wedge adjusted all the way up?

Love my boxwedge. Makes great consistent wood. It is by far the best wedge to have for the big rounds. I would argue even if you have a 12 way and you are splitting a 20 inch round you may be able to get it to go with one pass if everything is perfect with the log but I don't think that the consistently is there. Just my 2 cents.

I think it is a toss up between a box wedge and the Axis vertical splitter when it comes to the big rounds. Go check out Buckin' Billy Ray run his Axis on the big gnarly wood they have there, or Adam at Hometown Acres use his Axis with the tree service firewood rounds he gets quite often.

@@bwillan I have a Axis on order. I have a 22-28 with a boxwedg. I guarantee the 22-28 will out produce the Axis. I got the Axis for more bundle wood, campfire wood, cook/smoking wood and kindling. I can't wait to get it and try it out.

Why not call the 5 way, a 4 way,…the 7 way, a 6 way? I know you include the piece on top. That piece is never included in the split on the box wedges. That’s why I’m asking why the number can’t be the actual number of splits below.
